Not too bad. I am a bit upset that the lights on the Nexus triggered a migraine and the way that space flashes during flight between systems is similarly disconcerting to look at. I am also not watching the faces much when they talk.

Addison! Dear lord! I can see why she's a meme. Her face animation is horrid, and then the first thing she says to you is "My face feels tired ..."

You can also hear where the lines in the voice acting are disjointed and uneven. I noticed it badly with Tann on the Nexus.

Honestly, the game is a strong 8 just as I suspected. Its detractors seem to be grasping at any straws they can find to justify not getting the game because they're STILL mad over the ending of ME 3.

Yes, there are animation issues, but let's be frank, Mass Effect was never known for its facial animations. They're characters have always looked like they got monthly Botox injections.

It's a good game. At least I've enjoyed what I have played of it.

Loving the game. Didnt play ME-1-3 so no expectations. Witcher 3 was downgraded a lot compared to its trailers and so many people whined but did that diminish the game? Not one bit. Im not gonna sink to a silly consumer level and not play Me:A because of animations. Jesus.

I was thinking about getting this game but I'm left undecided and might wait for the price to drop. Anybody playing this on PC and more than an hour in?? What are your impressions so far?

Combat is good and the story seems fine so far. I'm early enough that it's hard to say.

They leave a lot up to you to figure out and some of that is not necessarily in a good way. For example, there isn't quite enough description there for me to know for certain exactly how crafting, mods, and the like work, so I'm hesitant to do too much with it because I don't want to screw something up. You know, craft something and realize I made and slotted the most useless piece of crap ever.

And I am usually pretty quick to pick stuff up and I feel like I'm flailing in the dark with it at times.

The lighting issues are specific to me. I'm a photosensitive migraine sufferer and a certain frequency of flashing light effect will trigger an attack every single time, so really, no game or movie is ever "safe" for me, and it's just bad luck of the draw that this game seems to have a problem spot. Once I learn what and where it is, I'll likely learn how to compensate for it by not looking at the screen while navigating that area or I'll wear sunglasses while playing or something.

Star Wars: Episode I does it too, but that's not a big loss to avoid watching it.

Most of the dialogue is fine. I just noticed the uneven sound with Tann so far. Everyone else has mostly been fine.

But, yeah, I just can't take Addison seriously.

I've enjoyed what I have played so far. I really don't see what the deal is. It just seems like a hate wagon to me. There's got to be one every year it seems.

Facial animations have never been "great" in Mass Effect. I have played all three. It's my favorite franchise and frankly, characters in Mass Effect have always looked like they get a monthly Botox injection. The stuff people are complaining about aren't "new" to the franchise. Mass Effect is and always has been about story and gameplay, not facial animations or whatever excuse people are using to bitch.

Exactly. Bioware is not known for super duper face animations. Among gamers this is known. Among the masses? Not one bit. And what gamers have now ultimately become is shameful.

That's OK. I have lost control of the game. I started with the Nomad today. 6-year-old got one look at it and started begging to drive it. So I figured he'd get tired of it after about 10 or 15 minutes ... 30 minutes later and he was still driving all over Eos.

Then, I went to the outpost. I figured I'd get it up and running before unlocking all of Peebee's stuff ... Yeah, that went over like a lead balloon. So the 6-year-old is sitting there in his father's computer chair watching me get my level 3 butt handed to me by the kett and their fiend, and he declares that he believed he could do that fight better than I could.

I don't know what I did to deserve such a little troll in my house.

Over 12 hours in on my PC.

And I've still only barely scratched the surface of this game.

Bioware wasn't kidding when they said they listened to the fans of the game who wanted to be able to explore more and have it more of a sandbox feeling to it. I'm already level 14 and have barely begun, with so many things to go do and figure out.

As for waiting for the price to drop: I can understand that, but I've got the feeling you may be waiting for 6 months to a year before it does. If you're in no hurry, they you'll be good to go, but it will most likely be a while.

I bought the Deluxe package (around $70 USD), and so far it's been worth every penny.

For those expecting ME1, 2 and 3: forget it. Those games had a story to tell with a beginning, middle and end. This game is completely on it's own. It has it's own story to tell, and it's up to the player to figure it out and move it forward. I know a lot of the fans that are down on the game for them what is missing is the characters they came to know and love from the first 3 games, who are not in this one. Hell, I feel that myself sometimes and keep expecting to run into one of them in this game.

But I'm willing to give this game a chance, and so far by doing that, it's starting to become quite addictive. There's battle to win, puzzles to solve and decisions to make (like which group of people to wake up from stasis).

Hell, I've been spending more time in the game than here on ATS, hehehehe.

I bought it too is what I meant, I was suckered lol. I didn't play it yet but I loved the first 2 and have the 3rd on my 360 I have yet to open and play through... I have so many games to play and so many paintings to finish and so much to do with my comic I can only add to my sh1t to do list but ME3 is next after RE7 then after that Andromeda

Ah, I gotcha. I thought you had already started playing it and were saying you felt disappointed. I misunderstood ya.

I have really enjoyed what I have played, but I know some haven't, or at least say they haven't. I can't help but think it's a culmination of some still being upset over the ending of ME 3 and the rumors that were circulated about the development team of Andromeda. To me, none of that should matter in regards to the game. A good game is a good game and what I have played of it thus far has been good.

The only real complaint I have so far is bringing up your journal can be a chore. It's not real responsive. Sometimes you push the button to bring it up and it'll come up, other times it won't.

I've been enjoying my time with it tremendously. Like you say, it's not ME1 or 2 or 3, it's ME:A. It shares some things with the original trilogy but it's also very much removed from it at the same time.

For me, there's been a number of times I've gone into my missions menu/list and thought "holy crap that's a lot" and I'm still very early into the game. It's truly on an epic scale, and I've barely done much with the main missions. (Did run around and get my N7 armor back though
).

All in all I'm loving this game so far. I stayed up past midnight on Monday night just to be able to get a peek at the game as early as possible and when I finally went to bed two hours later I was still giggling and giddy to be playing Mass Effect again.

I know. I thought I was done with Eos, and had gone on to Vold. I went back to Eos, and found out NOOOO.....you're NOT done, there is still TONS to explore and do....whew! Every time I talk to someone, they have something that needs to be done:

Bit on the overwhelming side....still...I can't complain. I wanted a game that would last me more than a day or two, and yep.....they delivered:
