Monopoly kicks out three classic game tokens

There's been a big shakeup in Monopoly's eight classic game pieces. Say goodbye to the boot, wheelbarrow and thimble tokens.

The ouster of the classic trio is the result of an online vote Monopoly parent Hasbro (HAS) held in January at VoteMonopoly.com, marking the first time in Monopoly's 82-year history that Hasbro crowdsourced the future of the game.

OMG!!! Say it's not so. They gave the boot.......THE BOOT.

I guess boots are not relevant to the current generation anymore? The thimble and wheelbarrow I can understand as most kids probably have no clue what a thimble is at all anyways. And, when was the last time a kid needed a wheelbarrow to play a video game?

I am just glad that political icons were not added as part of the game's "reboot" (pun intended). Can you imagine playing with a Trump and Hillary token? The games would end in all out warfare.

I would like to see a flying saucer token, or a bigfoot token! Now that would be fun.

What other samples of tokens does some of the ATS members here would like to see?

My monopoly game is older than I am. It doesn't have any of those--if it ever did, they're long gone.

Bigfoot would get an aye from me. Flying saucer, too.

Probably picked the three do to political correctness. The boot represents the unemployed,the wheelbarrow represents the migrant workers, the thimble is for the oppressed women of America! There I figured it out!

What did they replace the thimble and wheelbarrow with?

A candlestick, a rope, a dagger, a lead pipe, a revolver, a trophy and a wrench.

I think,except in certain families where it's a tradition,board games are in general on their way out.

A cat token is part of the classics? What the hell? My Monopoly board has a cavalryman on a rearing horse and I believe we bought it brand new not more than 15 years ago. When did they replace it with a cat? And what happened to the iron?

2. A fat politician with his feet up on a stack of your money

3. An outline of a murder victim / corpse

More like the poorest class of people, the lowly hobo, ditch digger and seamstress.

They can't be allowed anywhere near wall street. Only rich people play there.

My choices are a Lear Jet, Yacht and gold ingot.

Those were my favourite three to play as. I feel lost. How can I ever enjoy monopoly again?
