U.S. intelligence and law enforcement officials said on Wednesday that they have been aware since the end of last year of a security breach at the CIA that led to anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks publishing agency documents on its hacking tools.
The officials, who asked not to be identified, told Reuters that they believed that the documents published by WikiLeaks on Tuesday were authentic.
Investigators were focusing on CIA contractors as the likely source of passing materials to WikiLeaks, the officials said. The group published what it said were nearly 8,000 of pages of internal CIA discussions about hacking techniques used between 2013 and 2016.

The anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks raised the prospect Wednesday of sharing sensitive details it uncovered about CIA hacking tools with leading technology companies whose flagship products and services were targeted by the U.S. government's hacker-spies.
If that sharing should take place, the unusual cooperation would give companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and others an opportunity to identify and repair any flaws in their software and devices that were being exploited by U.S. spy agencies and some foreign allies, as described in nearly 9,000 pages of secret CIA files WikiLeaks published on Tuesday.
The documents, which the White House declined anew Wednesday to confirm as authentic, describe clandestine methods for bypassing or defeating encryption, antivirus tools and other protective security features for computers, mobile phones and even smart TVs. They include the world's most popular technology platforms, including Apple's iPhones and iPads, Google's Android phones and the Microsoft Windows operating system for desktop computers and laptops. abcnews.go.com...

of the Vault 7 documents are authentic according to the Intelligence and Law
Enforcement Community.

Of particular interest are comments from The Federal Prosecuters Office
in Germany, as it was published in the leak that the CIA ran a hacking
hub from the U.S. consulate in Frankfurt.
This following the NSA/Snowden leaks that have been verified
to be real. This does open up a whole discussion if people are interested,
as the implications are far and wide, and especially explosive
and potentially damaging as by all evidence incorporated it
appears this likely was in play during The U.S. 2016 election.
I for one think it is a positive step that the IC community
acknowledges this as real, as much as I have mixed feelings
on the various aspects of the impact it will have for a long
time to come.
At least we can discuss this without the dismissals that
Vault 7 and all of the subsequent leaks to come may
indeed be just as real.

I think some people will just try attack wikileaks founder instead of what he provided because they know its true or attack why he released it instead of paying attention to what is in it.
The russian collusion with trump story is dead. period! Over! Done! Bye bye!
Back on topic what this shows is a massive power bubble with no real oversite or rules regarding everyone. While on a military level i love the fact they have this however on a personal level its an abuse of power on our citizens right to privacy! Here are the problems, its clouded in secret, we assume its missions are for the best interest of our country but cant be sure and there seems be be no level oversite of power that keeps them in check with at lest americans. Now if you said only foriegn counties got this treatment i would say hey thats the spy game however its diffrent when they are loading malware and hardware into routers before americans get them.

Edward Snowden should be tried for treason, said Trump, on a number of occasions. Now he claims he has been spied upon, does he still feel the same?

Oh so now we are taking unnamed "officials" as a source?
But if it's anti-Trump it's nonsense....
Glad we aren't being hypocritical.

I wonder who doubted the authenticity, considering Wiki-leaks track record of accuracy with USA items?

For now. If that Frankfurt hub is real?
Unreal ....
With the previous NSA tap, this could get sticky.
