Scallops and razorfish hearts . Actually scrap the razorfish hearts , they are a delicacy that is to be enjoyed only by itself .

Love razorfish hearts. Used to dive for the shells in Jervis Bay. People thought I was mad gathering them instead of scallops.

Tragic for them. But if someone offered me a pizza topped with razorfish hearts. I wouldn't knock it back com padre.

I'm in NYC. No it's not a pizza restaurant but sometimes we will throw out a seafood pizza.

I'm a few pints in and definitely have the AM munches. I want a pizza bad!

It can be pretty labour intensive to get them , the deeper the water the bigger the razorfish generally speaking . Just so people dont think we are cutting the hearts out of real fish this picture might help .

In SA we are limited to 25 pp . Sadly the secret it out and they are getting harder to find . If you try some the heart has a brown clear type of film around it , this needs to be removed or they might taste a little bitter . I pickle them in vinegar , just the plain stuff . Bit of pepper in the jar , 24 hours and your good to go . Best tasting thing to come out of the sea IMO .

Yeah, you're right there hutch. I found them at 22 metres (hooker) mixing it with scallops. Didn't know about the bag limit but this was a while ago. Could hear what I reckon was a sub pinging on my last dive there. No ships about.

They fill a sack pretty quick. I like the hearts chilled then lightly fried on a BBQ with a dash of Whoosy sauce. The left overs (guts) and shell makes a great berley for snapper, bream or groper. Much like Abs. Always keep the leftovers in a freezer.

Try a roo strip pizza or mince roo pizza for a bushy taste. Tomato and Bega Tasty cheese. Bit of pepper on a crispy base.

Bugger, I'm hungry now. This is Hutches fault.
