Why are "ghosts" white and not Black, Yellow, Pink or of any other ethnic colour or origin etc...?

Legislation is being passed that requires all haunted houses to aquire at least one black ghost.

I have seen what I perceived to be a ghost once, and it appeared to be white. Really, more translucent gray, very reflective of light...but who knows why it looked that way...?

On a related note: why do ghosts always have clothing on? If the ghost is a projection of a formerly living organic entity, then why aren't all ghosts buck nekkid?? Sounds funny, but it's actually a serious question. If non living items like pants, shirts, and hats can be part of a ghostly apparition, then why not tables, chairs, and other objects that haven't been around for a long time?

Why are they mostly American...?

You are outside standing in the sun and the glare is brilliant, then you put on a pair of sunglasses and the glare is gone!

Same with ghost??

Ghost APPEAR white but they are actually all in color.... but you only see white....only those they approve of will they let you near enough to truly see them.... even their clothes are in color.

So anyone who sees a white ghost is actually seeing their "spiritual aura" . Its kinda like a "shield".

Thats pretty closed mind and ignorant of you to say that 45% of Americans are delusional, and idk what percentage of the rest of the world. So just because you "can't" tolerate ghosts anymore like you say doesn't mean they don't or can't exist. Do you have substantial scientific proof that they don't exist, because you and I can't prove whether they exist or not. As for the question to the OP why are ghosts white? I mean there is really no good answer for that, you have plenty of stories from around the world of full body apparitions that appear to be real people that they are mistaken for people actually being there.

ghosts are generally depicted as 'white'.... because that's the easiest way to depict a transparent spirit

however when a ghost has a evil or sinister presence, the apparition may appear a ghastly greenish
an angry/hateful ghost may have a reddish tinge to the observer

remember, a ghost is technically transparent ->> all your eyes-mind-heart 'sees' is the tell-tale essence or emotion of that Spirit or Ghost which can appear in color to your brain
BUT.... the membrane or veil which separates our two dimensions might also give the appearance of being white-ish, but is just the result of the entity and the membrane forming a denser area which itself is as solid as Fog

a ghost that has macabre intention, like a drive to kill, will show up as a demon instead...like a Freddy Kruger

Plenty of ghost legends from numerous different regions depict ghosts of all different ethnicity.

Possibly worth googling Chinese and Japanese ghost story's.

Ghosts can be any color. I've heard that it's the amount of energy they put towards becoming an apparition. The more energy used, the more color, they get, and the less you can see through them. And for all those non believers out there, I say do your own research, not come to a conclusion at an arm chair, and keyboard. I urge you to get out there, and find the truth for yourself. I wasn't a believer, until it showed me that it believed in me, no matter what I thought. I was still skeptic after my first encounter, but continued to keep an open mind, and do my own research. For the nay sayers, all I can say is do your own research, put yourself in a position to have an experience, and keep an open mind. You'll be surprised at what you find, I promise. Just because something cannot be measured, doesn't mean it can't exist. Just look at love, or hate.............

I was about to post this! I believe theres another similar one in Haiti that the ghost hunters(Host was a muscle head with the tap-out shirts) where a white plantation owner would torture and rape male slaves and have them killed. I'll google it after work but they mentioned "black slave ghosts"

I was told that the color, and more dense look comes from energy that they gather in the area to manifest. Interesting angle there, where did you hear this?

I think in photos it has to do with light traveling through particles (well that's a wild guess) But I have seen a full bodied apparition and visually there was color of hair, clothing etc. Strangely no shoes.

Sorry Noone, but I didn't think about that pathway when I wrote this thread...

But an interesting point of view!

I have read in the past that animals "ghosts" have been observed. Not sure about furries and LGBT though?
