There are different kinds of love.
Family #1 - Love of siblings and family is through shared life, childhood and all that. I love my brothers, sisters and remaining parent
unconditionally, even though one brother is a dick-head. Others may think differently in this, but I seem blessed with a close and harmonious family
experience.
Family #2 - Love of own family, especially children is again unconditional. Love of spouse is conditional, although in the "family", the spouse is
almost an honorary member. You can divorce your spouse, but not your kids; although I am sure some people also hate their kids! To quote an old
song I know... "Oh love is pleasing, love is teasing | And love's a pleasure when first it's new | But as love grows older, love grows colder | And
fades away like the morning dew". God, that’s depressing. Sometimes it is also true because the raging love of youth morphs into a different kind
of love as you move through life.
Lust is not love. It's a reaction revolving around sex. You may lust after someone, but don't love them. You may love the person you lust after,
but both are not mutually compatible.
Anyway, just my opinion with no scientific basis except experience.
