Years ago in a different house in the area, my brother and sister both saw an enormous UFO hovering over Concord, bigger than a football field. Very, very bright lights. Then in a fraction of a second, gone.

I agree. If this was genuine, i think it was an accident. Due to the duration of visibility, size of the ufo, and day time sighting, almost seemed like it had a moment of "decloaking" by accident?

It doesn't seem like sightings like this should happen over places as populated as the bay area, but I believe you. I saw a small black triangle flying overhead between buildings in downtown SF, on the edge of North Beach and Chinatown.

Are you sure the smaller objects were spherical, or could they maybe have been smaller craft with lights?

The white ufos were small and due to the distance, their exact shape may have not been spherical. they did look illuminated.

I've thought about making a thread on this. Anyway, I reported it to both MUFON and NUFORC and it's actually catalogued on NUFORC. MUFON changed its site.

I btw at the time was with my sister but said girlfriend as looking back on that evening, I thought they might take it more seriously if I said girlfriend, as my sister was pretty young at the time.

My report

Then the apparent abductee only a few miles away.

I didn't know about her until the investigators showed up. All the could confirm was it was within 5 miles but given where my house was and where the UFO was, I'd think she was in the area below the hill we lived on, an area with many houses.

You'll see at the bottom of her report is the acknowledgement of my report. Interestingly, the investigators at the time told me these were the first reports they had for that city in 17 years. And both were at roughly the same time within a few miles.

Cool sounding sighting. I should think there were quite a few others who saw this too,yes? Hopefully they will step forward and get ahold of MUFON and NUFORC as well. Thanks for your post. Will be watching for any mentions of this on the ufo sites I monitor.

So a few tidbits:

We had a chopper up today and flying in that area from 1230-1300 and 1350-1430 and they did not report seeing anything abnormal nor any mention of a lighter than air craft in the vicinity.......

When Project Loon balloons are in the air we get a heads up. In an around Orinda is still class B airspace last time I looked and comes under the purview of Oakland Center who lets us know.

I checked and Flightradar 24 shows all active Loon balloons are out of the area.

Its a pretty well populated area so perhaps someone else did spot it

Do we know what altitude and vector/location the chopper was at 2:21pm - 2:22pm? I had my eye on my clock when i was making this observation. From what i could tell, this UFO was only visible for maybe 20 - 30 seconds.

I could be guessig here, but if this was indeed a craft, if it had cloaking, its possible that i was just in the "sweet spot" or that it had a cloaking issue that could only be seen from the specific angle i was located at the time. Just a theory.


addendum: project loon? Just looked that up. Google driven balloon based internet? Interesting!

Wow I had a dream of a ufo last night, huge horizontal rectangle with yellow lights on the back end. Took off at a crazy speed after I had watched it for a few moments. It's funny to read your report, though my dream ufo was metallic grey not orange. Sorry if this is irrelevant to your thread.

If you notice in the post above yours, the object in tasmania looks like a greyish black rectangular ufo within an orange smoke/trail/sheath?

Perhaps what i saw was greyish black too but had some type of orange colored "shield" around it.

Are you sure there weren't two spheres on the right end?

This is a really crude sketch. The spherical parts on the sides are very much approximate and may have been smaller and symmetric.

The black lines on the rectangle were not necessarily there but i could kind of make out somehing like it, despite being far away.

The black dots were the white spheres and they were rapidly moving and disappearing. however the orange craft was stationary from what i could tell.

The orange markings on the left side of the UFO were additions that a lady made while i was taking a piss lol.

That is a sunlit aircraft contrail. They fool a lot of people.

Short Sunlit Contrails Look like UFOs link

Just do a web search for sunlit contrails. You Tube is also full of sunlit contrail videos being passed off as UFOs/Fireballs etc.

Contrails from large airliners can be huge depending on conditions. There is also the factor of distance and perspective to consider. People really do underestimate the distances that contrails can be seen. In some cases they can be seen hundreds of miles away. Factor in perspective and the illusiion is that they are stationary.

Airbus A380 sunlit contrail air to air. Imagine that being viewed from the ground at distance with perspective factored in?
