Fake Sweden expert on Fox News – has criminal convictions in US, no connection to Swedish security

Fox News continues to focus on the debate about how immigration is breaking Sweden. One guest last night, described as a ”Swedish defense and national security advisor”, spoke about the problems caused by criminality in Swedish cities and suburbs. But neither the Swedish Defense Ministry nor Foreign Office have heard of the expert. Nils Bildt, who called for an “open and honest” debate on crime, has previously been convicted of a violent offence in the United States.

So, people in the Swedish security community have never even heard of the guy. I follow Swedish media a bit and I can confirm he isn't known to the public either.

I don't know if Fox has been scammed or if they simply don't care, but this is pretty depressing to see, and a classic example of "fake news", though I slightly dislike that phrase. Personally I think there are problems with immigration in Sweden, but this kind of idiocy can't be justified. People deserve better and they should demand it. I guess anyone can call himself security advisor, and he is Swedish, but why should we listen to someone with no experience in the field that he's talking about? Getting drunk in public and assaulting a cop does not qualify him as an expert on crime.

What's that saying ...takes a thief to knee a thief ? ...I guess this Swedish expert falls under " takes a criminal to know a criminal " ! .....too bad for Fox News, I bet they got Scammed .

This sort of thing is depressing - generally when you see a news organization taken in like that, they so desperately WANTED that to be true that they ignored the signs that it wasn't, or failed to do basic vetting on the source.

I've seen the left fall for the same sort of crap, though. Jesse Macbeth comes to mind, and IIRC, Salon got suckered with another one just like it involving a guy who told them he was SF and was 'exposing all the lies and corruption' etc. It took me *maybe* 15 minutes to discover the guy was a motorpool truck driver at a National Guard unit in Alabama, and had been at a training session at a base at the same time as the guys he was "exposing" a few months before. Apparently he'd run into some of them, got a little of the lingo and some key times and places memorized, then posed as some sort of SF whose conscience was making him come clean.

The anti-migrant rhetoric is becoming a little overwhelming at the moment, very difficult to find balanced viewpoints. Type a Swedish story into google and that same story has been copy and pasted by 20 different alt-right websites. Youtube is full of so-called conspiracy videos claiming 'The Truth'. Like the definition of 'truth' is just when Paul Joseph Watson says it is.

Fox News has never been a bastion of accuracy, but now alt-right conspiracy websites and Fox News appear to be merging, it seems deeply disturbing to me when it is Donald Trump's favourite source of information.

They reported that the shooter in quebec city said alahu akbar before shooting, but then had to appologize for lying.

They reported in paris there where muslim no go zones, they had to appologize live.

They cliamed obama would use fema camps and sharia law to destroy america.

They claim that there is a war on xmas, a holocaust againts white people and christians.

They claim that jesus and santa where really white people.

And the list goes on and on.

I nearly forgot, they used to have a terrorist expert that eventually ended up that he was just joe average with no ties to any agencys.

Millions of people visit Egypt every year, sounds like someone got triggered.

Some act like Fox is immune to doing this kind of thing. Here's just the bottom line: ALL network television channels have been blowing smoke up their viewer's asses for decades. They have reached a precipice where they just can't any longer hide it, not for long anyway.

Either way, Fox News is again looking like a fool, but I doubt hardcore partisans will hold those standards to other news stations.

Fox News quality has been in the crapper for as long as the rest of the Fake Media.

Yeah ... they have a conservative slant. But, when you step back and analyze what you're looking at, you'll see that it's less than 5% facts and at least 95% opinion. And then ... they repeat it and drum it into your skull ... like the rest of the networks. If it's Main Stream (Fame Stream) ... better to just tune it out.


Life is so much better without a TV blaring at you all day.

Sounds like the ones complaining the loudest are the same ones trying to suppress the problems in Sweden.
