Among those who go there. Most people don't even know what it is. If the government was trying to cover something up, they sure as hell wouldn't use 4chan as their launch-point. I even asked my wife, who is about average for Internet usage (purpose and time of access), and I got a blank look and a "huh?" when I asked her if she knew what 4chan is. Go walk into a grocery store, and ask everyone in it if they know. I imagine 1 person might.. the rest won't. You assume it's so mainstream that the majority of 300+ million even KNOW about it, let alone go there? Please..

I think it's possible that the pic is the real thing. So many times 'hoax' has been screamed from the mountain tops that we could have ET staring us in the face and quickly dismiss it.

I'm a firm believer in 'where there is smoke, there is fire'. The behavior by a website which allows pretty much anything and everything to be posted is interesting.

Also, the photo manipulation seems like yet another disinformation attempt to get everyone to dismiss the whole thing.

As for the 'selfie' label, what better way to also discredit. Obviously, it's doubtful an ET is taking a selfie. However, a close up picture doesn't mean it's automatically a vain and empty 'selfie'. Why can't it just be a close up picture? Someone else could have easily snapped the photo. It's just another attempt to get everyone to correlate a close up photo with the Kardashians.

What better place to dump a potentially dangerous photo than 4chan? It's anonymous and has a rabid group of people willing to spread the word and do some pretty dillegent research. Lots of those posters are like a bloodhound on a scent, relentless.

yes you obviously missed some things.

I've never seen behavior like this. it's like the mods are trolling or something. None of the threads are being archived.
One thread I was in the pictures worked for like 10 seconds that I was there and then poof ALL the images were 404 and the images were all different.

then all the cool posts got delted really fast but not all at once.. just on down the line, and then the thread 404ed..

Any time someone seems closer that thread goes away instantly.

I think it's an elaborate hoax but it can't be just normal users doing it.

Seriously, I would greatly appreciate it, Reverbs. Thanks for the update as well. I will pay closer attention. My immediate reaction to the whole thing was "4chan joke" so I didn't pursue it further. Kudos for going down the rabbit hole...

I did a google image search and the only 2 sites it is on is here and 4chan (a few shares in the past few minutes). That seems odd to me, you'd expect it on other conspiracy sites but it doesn't seem to exist there, what the heck is going on???

ETA The 'it' I'm referring to is the patchwork pic...

Looks kind of like one of the African women that put neck rings on for years and are all stretched out, coupled with an odd head-shape. Mouth looks rather human. Eyes rather large.

Yes I think you are spot on, this built up squared image is not the real one at all, the early replacements bought some time for this one.

That's not an argument.

No other hoax on this topic has seen the current reaction where endless threads/members on a site got immediately banned.

2 more threads just went 404 0n 4chan.
