Mysterious disappearances in Boston MA.

Good evening ATS,
Recently I have been intrigued with people disappearing with mysterious circumstances, I think what really got me into the whole phenomenon is that I just received David Paulidis book the Missing 411 and after reading it I guess you could say I followed "The rabbit down the rabbit hole". Now I was just doing some stumbling around the Internet the other day and I came across this article about people disappearing in Boston MA.

The piece of the article that I quoted above is what you would think is happening. We have all been drunk before and have been unable to find our way home easily or even found it tough to walk in just a straight line, but some of these cases have so many strange coincidences in them that I found them very intriguing. The author of the article stated that his true intrigue began when he also read Missing 411 and he started to notice similar things that was happening to the people from the book and to missing persons cases from Boston, that is when he started digging and what he found has definitely sparked my interest.
Now the author goes into some good detail of each case.
1. John Daverio 49 years old - 2003
John was a Professor at Boston University and Chairmen of the Department of Musicology. Described as a happy man who took care of his elderly parents. No signs of suicide. He was last seen on CCTV camera leaving the BU campus on the night of March 16th 2003. He left his wallet and briefcase in his classroom but was seen on camera with a white bag which was never recovered. Police would later find his body a month later in the Charles River and his death according to Boston Police is unexplained but they did not suspect foul play or suicide.
This was the earliest case that the author came across.
2. Dustin Willis 26 years old - 2007
Dustin was a Petty Officer in the Navy, in March of 2007 the ship Dustin was stationed on docked in Boston Harbor for the St. Patricks Day weekend. On March 16th of 2007 there were blizzard conditions in Eastern MA including Boston. That night Dustin was out with shipmates in Quincy Market at a bar called the Black Rose, anyone familiar with Boston will know the area this is in. Now his shipmates stated that Dustin was sober at 11PM when they left the bar, Dustin also made several phone calls to his girlfriend who also stated that he was sober that night. Dustin friends lost sight of him in the in the storm, which I believe is incredible because of the area of the city they were in, very well lit even in a storm. Dustins girlfriend called him a last time that night and someone who wasn't Dustin answered that phone and stated that they found it and then hung up. Dustins phone was found at around 1AM that evening. On March 21st his body was found in 22 feet of water steps away from where police found his phone.
3. William Hurley 24 years old - 2009
William like Dustin was also in the Navy, William was actually in Boston the same night Dustin went missing. On October 8th of 2009 he went to a Bruins game with his friend but decided to leave after the first period, he left the TD Garden to call his girlfriend for a ride home. After he spoke with his girlfriend and she told hims she was right around the corner his phone died. Moments later when she pulled up he was no where to be found. When police began the search for William they found very little leads and his cellphone was found smashed. on October 14th his body was found in the Charles river 25 feet from shore. BPD ruled out a mugging because he had no signs of injury and still had his wallet and keys.
4. Gene Losik 26 years old - 2010
Gene was a engineer grad at UMASS Amherst and was working at Raytheon, he was also a black belt in Karate. On February 20th 2010 he was in Boston celebrating a birthday with friends. He was caught of CCTV at 2:24AM walking out the back door of his hotel without a jacket and heading the Christopher Columbus park. His friends said possibly for a cigarette, the next morning his friends woke up and realized Gene was not in the room and they contacted police. Scent dogs led them to the docks and the water was searched by divers but nothing was found. Nine months later his body was found in Boston Harbor, his cause of death is still unknown at this time, they don't know why it took his body six months to be found since forensics indicate it should have floated to the surface much sooner.
5. David Mark 24 years old - 2011
David Mark who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as well as Aspergers, he was 24 years old when he went missing. On March 2nd 2011 David left his parents house in New York and drove to Boston to his sisters house in Chestnut Hill. David went to the Fenway Park area of Boston and ate at a bar, people who worked at the bar stated that he was in good spirits that day, however he never returned to his sisters house or back to New York. His car was found several days after he was reported missing in Chestnut Hill and his phone was last pinged at 6:40 PM in the Charlestown Naval Yard. On March 8th a fishing boat found his body in the Chelsea river 15 feet from shore. Police again did not suspect foul play because he had no signs of trauma.
6. Franco Garcia 21 years old - 2012
On February 21st 2012 Franco was out with his friends at Maryann's Bar in Cleveland Circle, he had made plans to spend the night at a friends house, at 11:27 PM he texted his friend to remind her not to leave without him, but sometime after 12:15 his friends lost sight of him inside the bar. Again anyone familiar with this area will know that Maryann's is a very small bar, it would be tough to loose sight of anyone inside of it even if you were drunk. Franco left his keys and jacket at the bar. At 12:18AM Franco was caught on CCTV passing an ATM and heading towards the Chestnut Hill Reservoir where his car was parked. Police immediately focused the search for Franco in and around the reservoir but found nothing. On April 11th his body was found in weeds with his wallet still on him in an area that was searched by police earlier.
7. Jonathan Dailey 23 years old - 2012
Jonathan was 23 at the time of his disappearance and was attending a Grad school in Boston. On the night of October 2nd 2012 he was having pizza and hanging out with his roommate in there apartment. When his roommate woke up the next morning Jonathan was gone, he had left behind everything expect for his phone, attempts were made to reach him but to no avail and his phone was soon shut off. On October 9th his body was found in the Charles river near Boston University. Interestingly his body was found tied with chains to a cinder block, he had no signs of mental illness or suicide.
There are 4 more cases that I will post.

He was 21 years old. On November 29th friends saw Dennis playing basketball at the Marino Center on Northeastern’s campus. This was verified by his keycard swipes. The next day he spoke to his mother on the phone, a conversation that she felt was perfectly normal. After that Dennis did not show up for classes, and did not respond to his mother. His phone was last pinged at around 2am on the MIT Campus in Cambridge.
This is also close to were two other bodies were found as it is located right across Storrow Drive from Boston University.

So to conclude this post, I hope everyone finds this as interesting as I did. I think these 11 cases have a lot in common as for the ages of most of the men and the locations to where there bodies were found. So my two theories are 1. There could quite possibly be a serial killer lurking the streets of Boston targeting young men. 2. It could be something much more then we will ever be able to understand, I for one cannot rule out the possibility of the extraterrestrial or the Paranormal. I would like to hear what everyone else's theories are.

On April 23 at about 12:30pm Eric’s body was found in the water at the end of Long Wharf. Police did not find his death suspicious. Why he supposedly walked to Long Wharf then proceeded to fall into the water and drown is unexplained.

osue was out running errands with his brother on October 17th 2015. He dropped his sibling off at a Bed Bath and Beyond in Somerville at about 4:30pm. He failed to return home or answer his phone. His car was found then next day at 10pm in Quincy.

On December 31st at 10am Dennis’ body was found by a jogger in the Charles River on the Boston side, near the esplanade and Arthur Fiedler Footbridge. The location is directly across from the MIT campus. There was no signs of trauma, and police were investigating the death as a “non-homicide”.
This is also close to were two other bodies were found as it is located right across Storrow Drive from Boston University.
11. Zachary Marr 22 years old - 2016
He was celebrating his 22nd birthday with his cousins at the Bell in Hand Tavern on February 13th 2016. At about 1:30 he went outside for a cigarette, leaving his coat behind. At 1:40 he sent a snapchat to his cousin Amanda Marr that said “They won’t let me back in, lets leave”. She agreed to come out. However when they got outside Zach was gone. According to CCTV and bouncer statements, Zach never asked to come back inside. He was caught on CCTV at 1:44 walking past Boston Public Market, heading in the direction of TD Garden and Zakim Bridge. Police later found CCTV footage of Zachary “entering” the water under the Zakim (this footage has not been released). It is unclear what that meant precisely, but teams immediately began to search the water in the area. Nothing was found, possibly due to extremely low visibility. Several more searches were conducted with similar results in that area of the Charles River. On March 15th 2016 at about 5:45pm passerby’s noticed a body in the water by the Museum of Science Boston and (ironically) the Leverett Circle State Police Barracks. It was Zachary. His body was found in a location consistent with previous searches. Why he left the Bell in Hand and walked about a mile to the Charles is still unknown.

Well you have to take into account they are all around the same age early to mid 20's minus one who is 49 and one who is 18. They all disappeared between October and March like another poster already pointed out and they all wound up in a body of water I.E. the Charles river or Boston Harbor.

I've rewritten this post several times , as I don't know exactly how to say what I really want to say.
These pocketed events such as the OP describes are far more common than most people are aware.
I 'm not going to go any further into this as there are literally thousands of open cases.
Stay in contact with family and friends.

Those months correspond to College semesters. The year spans, 13 years, indicate non student but someone who works for a college in that time period. Away for the summer. Points towards a professor. No foul play reported but wtf was that one guy doing with a cinderblock and chain on his body? That looks like the method, body held down till it comes free and found later.
Barney Fife could solve this.

Sadly I have not been able to find any pictures but if you use the link I provided the author shows were all the bodies were found via google maps I believe.

Furthermore, many of the the victims are related in other ways. William Hurley, Dustin Willis, and Jonathan Dailey were all from North Carolina. Willis and Hurley were both in the Navy. Willis, Gene Losik, and Eric Munsell were all engineers. Franco Garcia was studying chemistry. Garcia, Willis, Dailey, and John Daverio were all musically talented. Josue Quispe was a photographer and Dennis Njoroge was a filmmaker.

If i was to suspect foul play, id probably assume someone at Boston University, a loner, who probably, most likely has a birthday around Oct- April.

If you remove the first missing, you got a pattern of a serial killer, or it could be coincidence and suicide.
Serial Killers usually removes an item or a memorabilia and keeps it, did the victims miss anything? Keyring? anything?
There is a difference between a serial killer and a murder, the serial killers are usually highly intelligent, the others are just less human, empty vessels.
If you remove the first missing, you got a pattern of a serial killer, or it could be coincidence and suicide.

a trace from her apartment - while her friend was inside sleeping. It was a big news thing for a while. She's still missing to this day.

Abductees have seen them, regular people have seen them, people have been killed by them... One man in particular, an armed game warden, was grabbed and bear-hugged to death. He was squeezed so hard his ribs broke and pierced his lung. His gun was then set up against a nearby tree.
