The Holographic Universe Theory

Hi,

I am not aware if many of you have heard about the holographic universe theory. It is most interesting, it might provide us answers to previously unanswered questions. I came across this theory about a year ago, in a scientific journal, and now, I intend to dig further information on this subject.

Do you think that this theory is so powerful/could become so powerful in the future that real research and it's results will be held from the general public because it wouldn't be able to handle it? Which impact would this theory have on the world if proven? Would it have any pratical use?
