Can we all come to an agreement? The Federal government needs to be stripped of it's power.

Then let 'em burn.

Besides, without the massive federal dollars flowing into their various liberal causes (too numerous to mention) then we'll see what their true concerns are. As it stand right now the federal government has become this massive 'vote buying' machine and nothing more.

I believe the Federal Government needs a massive reduction in power. I don't mean our current Administration - But, if you do happen to vehemently oppose the current administration, maybe you'll see a valid point or two within my proposal to remove their power in general.

The government that has the power to bring into question/change our 2nd amendment rights has the power to question Roe vs Wade.

The government that has the power to ignore/deny someones religious freedoms, also has the power to ignore/deny Separation of Church and State.

The government that has the power to regulate business in ways that are beneficial for the people also has the power to regulate business in ways detrimental for the people. ( Subsidies, corporate lobby-ism, small-business killing regulations, Obamacare... )

The government that has the power to tax us for causes we believe in, also has the power to tax us for things we do not.

The government that can force executive orders you support, can also force ones you oppose.

What I'm getting at is that all of us are very different - There is no "one size fits all" answer here, and as such, I believe that community, county, and state government should inherit a lot of the power and responsibilities the federal government currently has - Some things may need to be handled at the federal level, but I really believe it's a lot less than we imagine. If it's not in the constitution, I believe each state has the right to do it's own business. ( For instance, tax-status of religious organizations - Utah might be great with it, California might deny charity status - And I'm okay with that)

What do you think, fellow members of ATS - Do you think such a move could go well?

I Believe an Anarchist such as yourself Lacks the Intelligence to Agree that your Reasoning here is Biased Towards Authority to begin with , therefore your Argument for your Beliefs is Flawed .

You took the words out of my mouth. I was going to say someone has to be at the top of the food chain making the hard decisions. It sounds like a simple problem with authority. I have to agree. Personally I think we need more government involvement but less funding in the areas that waste and harm us.

I'm not an anarchist, I'm a libertarian.

Stronger states rights, less Federal government intrusion.

I have a problem with over-bearing, huge, massive, can lock you up and jail you with zero rights with the Patriot Act kind of people. I don't have a problem with organization and collaboration, I have a problem with dictatorship and lack of answering to anyone.

Geeze, why do people require such over-bearing authorities in their life that they couldn't even consider something else?

Once the Trump regime gains foothold we will finally see these crooks toppled, and our own American ways restored.

Even Trump supporters see his government as a regime, not a democratically elected and responsible administration, apparently.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they're trying to put on the facade, that all of us are stupid and incapable of taking care of ourselves, as well as making rational decisions, so the government needs step in and make sure they keep us safe. In reality it's just control and less freedom but we're not really safer. So in conclusion, either the government is going through the fascist route to control and dominate us or the government truly thinks it's population is a bunch of idiots. I don't like either option.

The problem is this, the federal government was created to be very limited, but in 1913 the federal reserve was created allowing fiat money. Now congress, with the help of its evil creation, can make any amount of money that the federal government would like. You cannot have a limited government with unlimited resources. The federal reserve has destroyed any possibility of a limited federal government.

American States Can sometimes be More Oppressive than the Federal Government itself . The Feds are there to Insure Checks and Balances are Followed when it comes to Individual Citizens Constitutional Rights . Remember the Civil War ? The Supreme Law of the Land Must be Obeyed or Anarchy will ensue throughout America .

Let it happen, it'd be great. The country would break up after 50 years.

Here's how it will play out

Some states(GOP led) would create tax systems and regulation systems so advantageous compared to others(imagine Cali) that they would suck up all the businesses. Killing other states, esp states who opt for socialist systems because muh sweden.

California making itself a sanctuary state(AKA a no borders areas) will get drowned in immigrants and self destruct. When all welfare goes to state systems it will not work as states have to keep balanced budgets unlike Federal governments. California's government will have to fight fiscal reality.

Once the threat of law is killed for illegal immigration the sheer flood from latin america into cali will be terrifyingly large.
Cali getting destroyed bc it is a welfare state with 10's of millions of illegals will cry for federal help. The other states esp the South and Midwest will say NO.

The states will also change electoral map law to only count US citizens for electoral votes. Cali will protest as its number of electoral votes will be over 80 at this point due to illegal immigrants and census numbers

Cali will counter by trying to change the electoral system to popular vote and giving illegals the right to vote or by attempting to give them all citizenship.
The other states will protest and other states will put in strict ID and profile checking laws as this large mass of illegals tries to flee california for jobs.

IF cali ever gets the upperhand to force other states to pay for its state welfare system the union breaks up. Once Cali gives illegals the right to vote, cali quickly undergoes latinization, its white ivory tower liberals replaced by hispanics only.

Due to the economic crisis in Cali because of no borders, no laws, and a socialist state, they blame the rest of america, The hispanics in cali start wanting to succeed and annex with mexico, as they feel the rest of america hates them and they indeed do hate their failed socialist state. Economic crisis always bring out tribalism.

I am not opposed to flyover country wresting itself from the coasts thus I support states rights because of the outcome of what I have just shown will happen. The heartland will get to be its own country.

TL
R, States rights over time will cause a large balkanization event that will break up the US.

It is a regime.

Every Government is.

A regime is merely a form of Government.

The American Regime has remained relatively unchanged for 3 centuries. Conversely the Chinese Regime has gone through like 7-8 changes in the same time period.
