Yes they could have chosen to try to save the Jews.
What do you think would have happened if they had taken that course of action?

Sorry but they were under occupation by a foreign hostile government and chose to follow orders instead of getting their country destroyed.

Germany was coming for foreign Jews and we're rounding up French Jews after that.

You do know how France liberated THEMSELVES, I think they could cared less about their occupants and what they would have 'done' to them.
The French had extensive networks of underground freedom fights. They could have easily just sent the Jews somewhere else. Bottom line, they didn't give a rats ass about what the Germans thought. And they handed over Jews for their own gain.

Chess pieces sacrificed during a time of war.
A choice they would not have made in peacetime.

This reminds me of France during WW2. The rounding-up of the Jews began with the non-citizens.

Have we begun our own "rafle"?

Spammy reference to get people to believe immigration law enforcement is automatically "Nazi".

that`s exactly what it is, a very transparent attempt to derail, deflect, and prevent discussion of the actual topic.

The beauty of history is that we can analyze the crap out of it and see where we went wrong.

The French and all other nations should not have punished Germany so harsh and not taken the Nazi party so lightly. Churchill saw it coming, and the world laughed and dismissed him. Look where it ended up. Chess pieces in a time of war, maybe you need to do some reading into philosophy of war, don't corner or oppress the loser of a previous conflict while giving them false hope of freedoms.

Never mind that most of the planning of these operations were already underway during the Obama administration.

What's disturbing is that the previous administration didn't take actions to deport murderers and criminals that were here illegally.

I'd have to question the motivation of any ideology that would encourage murderers and criminals to live freely in our society.

Now apply that same thought to open borders, and free travel to seven of the worst states around the globe.

The Nazi party started off as a 'socialist' platform to gain votes, promising jobs and economic growth after a harsh time when the world $%#@ on them after WW1.

The same promises Donnie made.

When they got into power it quickly went from a slight liberal party to extremely alt right blaming immigrants and criminals of all classes for stealing jobs, mainly the Jews.

Donnie did nothing but blame illegals throughout his whole campaign.

It's just a little fishy how it's all come sort of full circle back to something we as human beings tried to avoid so much, blaming and finger pointing and hate mongering.

Thats because we elect people who thrive on hate into power.

A sick comparison, it's nothing like rounding up legal Jewish citizens for slaughter in WW2, unbelievable!! a reply to: introvert

It started with the criminals, 'corrupt' politicians and the illegals.

I doubt it will get to a point where they start rounding up all sorts of legal people, but it's happened before.

Actually Hitler was a huge fan of Hegel. He was a progressive, just as the vast majority of the Democratic party is now. You know, the same ones that have to have an enemy that their base can focus the blame on. Currently in America that's the white heterosexual male, not immigrants.

So scream alt-right if it makes you feel better, but the comparison would be a lot more apt if you dropped names like Wilson, Karl Marx, FDR, Lenin, Johnson, Obama, Clinton....

Hope that helped.

I stand amazed.

Why even have laws if they will not be enforced? Why not just allow the country to devolve into chaos?

I am now listening to a substantial group actually advocate lawlessness, by trying to equate it with lawfulness and vice-versa. Quite an interesting time to be alive.

Personally, I think ICE's actions are wonderful. Three weeks in and already bringing in jobs, destabilizing alien workers, and now deporting illegal aliens en masse. Go Trump!

Clinton is more right than left, I hope you understand this.

As for me, I am not yelling right or left because it's dangerous territory, once I mention either or on this forum it automatically become you are either Hitler or Mao, no in between.

Hitler started his "jew' hating LONG before he ran for politics, his mind was set on ONE thing, nationalism.

Why not just round up all the 'non immigrant' criminals and throw them out as well?

Great Britain did just that long ago.

They deported many criminal citizens to the colonies.

Most were sent to America and Australia.

And look what happened then. We got two great nations built up from Britain's unwanted labor.

So, obviously, deportation is not a bad thing.

If it's done right, it can be beneficial to the whole world economy.

Imagine, deporting all 20 million undocumented Mexicans back to Mexico.

That would be a "uge" boost to the Mexican economy.

All those people coming back, all at once, needing homes, cars, clothes, food, etc..and bringing back their "skills" developed in the north with them to help build up their original homeland.

That's got to be a big plus for Mexico.

Besides, most of these "returned" are coming back with English speaking skills, good for border trade with the North, and great for jobs that transact business with the US and Canada like: banking, truck driving, trade in goods etc..

It's a win win for Mexico.

I don't see how Mexico could ever complain about getting back their people, reversing the brain drain that occurred over the last 50 years or so.

And with all these 20 Million extra people living in Mexico, all accustomed to buying American goods, a habit they will most likely continue, that means instead of selling "Made In America" products to "undocumented" living in the USA, America will now be selling those same goods as "exports" to Mexico, helping to reverse the trade imbalance.

Then Trump can claim another "win", that he caused American exports to boom.

It seems like deportations has some good things in store for everybody.

Let's hope they actually deport, and not round up and "detain" these people in "detention camps" where they become useless and idle, instead of productive members of the society.

I don't think it should apply to minor convictions. And I think we should get over ourselves. What's this really going to do? Again, Alabama tried getting rid of its undocumented and 2 years later rescinded because of economic strain. This might not be as extreme, but...
www.washingtonpost.com - Alabama tried a Donald Trump-style immigration law. It failed in a big way....

Just remember, people may think that it's impossible to deport 20 Million undocumented back to Mexico, but look at Germany. In one year alone, Germany accepted 1 Million refugee immigrants fleeing from turmoil in the Middle East and Africa. Those 1 Million people moved on their own, by their own volition, travelling all the way from the African continent to Europe.

When people are motivated, they can move very quickly.

If an asteroid struck the US, causing turmoil, those same "immovable" undocumented aliens would rush back to Mexico in a heart beat.

So, it is certainly possible, with the right set of incentives, to move 20 Million illegals back to Mexico, which is just a stone's throw from the US.

Already, we have African refugees leaving the US and pouring over the Canadian border in fear of Trump, even going so far as braving the bitter cold, suffering frostbite, and losing fingers and toes to escape the Trump adminstration's new America.

Do you know there was a time when people "escaped to America"...but today, the movement is on..and people are "escaping from America"...as fast as they can...even risking their lives in the process to "get out". Even American Citizens with "dual" nationalities, living abroad, are giving up their American Citizenship...which, only a few years ago, would be the one Citizenship they'd want to keep.

That's a big change.

So, it isn't going to be difficult at all, to move those 20 Million undocumented back south to Mexico.

Once ICE steps up their raids, it will soon reach the point where the undocumented will move before being raided, and deport themselves back to Mexico. After all, if they deport themselves, they can always come in back "legally" to visit their American relatives. But, if they get forcably deported, they might not be able to return, even as a visitor, for 10 years or more. And when you have family in both America and Mexico, it's important to keep that option to visit in both places if you can.

So, my prediction is that within the next 4 years, almost all of the 20 Million undocumented will return to Mexico, most voluntarily, without anybody telling them to go, just like the African migrants rushing towards the Canadian border today.

I can't believe that there are so few people left in this country with the ability to think things through to their logical conclusion, that the question so seldom comes up...

...Once you start this type of thing, where does the thing stop?...

I think it's going to be like in the past, where many (most) are left without anyone to speak out for them when the thugs come banging down the door.

There is a reason the rest of the world considers America to something of a joke you know?, and you who support this nonsense more than likely cannot see it through your rose colored "exceptionalist" glasses.

Enjoy...

America is thought of as a joke? To who?

I thought everyone was jealous because we had too much power/excess, right?

So which is it? Are we a joke or are we too powerful?

it won't be difficult to deport 20 million illegals to mexico? it won't be cheap either, and it won't be a humanitarian/logistical nightmare either will it? what about the other 20 million illegals considering only half of illegal immigration comes from mexico, or are we just focusing on the mexicans? focusing on mexicans that wouldn't be xenophobic would it?

deporting 40 million people will solve americas problems right? get rid of the scapegoats and we can make america great again?

never mind the cost, logistics, humanitarian nightmare it would be because you just want to get rid of them nasty illegals, i get it. merikkkuh!!!
