I did not know where to post this, first of all.

I've been experiencing this weird phenomenon of sorts, where if I heard a phrase or read a phrase somewhere, I (almost immediately) would come across it another two or three times, in some form or fashion.

The reason I didn't know where to post this was because I do deal with a mental illness. (being honest). Even though I have talked this through with everyone I know around me I received multiple answers. Most people telling me to shrug it off as coincidence.

An example: I was casually talking to my father when he brought up "tax evasion" that my mother was into. (Now, on a side note, I never think much of any kind of phrase unless I heard it a second time by someone different). Anyway, I shrugged off the conversation, until I talked to mother on the phone an hour or so later. Which then she brought up tax evasion herself in her own way. My parents are divorced. Have been for 10 years. Don't talk to each other. It seemed a bit weird after that. Which then I sort of shrugged it off and pulled up Facebook after getting off the phone with her. The first post was by someone talking about tax evasion.

Maybe not so relevant?

This has been going on for quite some time. I would say for a few months or more. I didn't think much of it until a month ago.

I listen to a song and I would read a phrase of the song on Facebook in a nonchalant post, or hear someone repeat the phrase. Recently, I read someone talking about the movie Dazed and Confused and that happens to be one of my social media account names. I'm not sure. This could be all coincidences, which is why I said it's a key word here, but it just doesn't seem completely so.

I talked to a few friends. One suggested that I was just probably noticing more around me in the world than most people. One told me it was a coincidence. Although, how could this go on for so long and be that?

I trust my friends so much I have convinced myself almost that it is a coincidence despite my initial thoughts of it being otherwise. So i thought i'd pass it by this site, (my trusted site) just in case.

If you need anymore examples let me know.
Thanks for reading.

Could it be, that with the new year and April 15th on everyone's mind, the words "tax evasion" are used more often than other times of the year?
Maybe try not to distrust yourself so much. You are probably hearing it more right now.

Oh my word, I experience this so damn often. Every time I've brought it up to somebody, they dismiss it as "red car syndrome" and that totally makes sense but... it doesn't. It's always too extreme and redundant to ignore.

I've discovered by correlation, though, that when it happens, it's normally when I'm on the right path in whatever I'm doing. It might just be another way for the universe to say "keep going that way".

It happens. My wife and I both experience the same thing. I've talked to friends about it and most agree they've experienced it as well. I don't think there's an answer to why or how. Like anything though since you're aware of it you'll notice it more frequently.

My wife will be watching something on Netflix while I'm online here or something and will read words or sentences on the screen while someone in the show she's watching will be saying them. Or the other way around when I'm listening to an audiobook while doing something else.

We tend to joke that it's caused by the universe trying to reach a point of singularity. Something like Terence Mckenna's timewave zero. Neither of us believe that but that's how we joke about it.

Sometimes I think it's just the universe trying to say something.

Hello, I know what you speak of and I believe it's called Synchronicity

Carl Jung coined the term as a concept he felt that events had " meaningful coincidences " with things that otherwise had no relationship but would still present themselves.

I also have this odd thing happen, when I look at a word, it looks made up, almost like I'm unable to read english for a moment, now that's scary.

I personally believe it to be either the " universe " or " help in general from unknown sources " trying to convey a message or meaning, normally to do with our very own lives.

Now, I certainly don't mean if you see " Smoke tarrlytons " everywhere, you need to smoke, or even to do something.

I like to just look into whatever I do happen to catch this happening with and see if maybe it relates with me or deserves more thought. Half the time it's not a bad deal to think something over again.

Since you're hearing " tax evasion " now, maybe talk with your mom, maybe she is about to try some sort of tax evasion and she might get into trouble with and you have the chance to possibly talk her out of it.

I'm not one for the woo woo, but I also don't disregard something just because others think it's not true, I let myself decide that, because I have my own Melon with a neuron network inside like everyone else.

--------

So in the end, don't go betting the farm when this happens, but certainly, do yourself the favor and look into it with a light heart, if for anything, to just make sure, because you don't know 100% how this universe works and there very well may be someone or something trying to help you out.

Keep love and light in your heart and keep the rest an arms reach away.

Thank you all for the quick replies. I believe I was looking for that word, "Synchronicity". Although, I didn't know how much of it applied to this. Or perhaps someone told me that I just didn't listen!

This happens to me quite often. Not so much phrases, although that has happened - recently I read something that literally popped up on a tv show right after I read it. Weird to say the least! Mostly my experience is visual. I will be talking to someone about a particular car, dog, whatever. Then I will see that one car model, or dog breed (just an example) will be everywhere I go. I've always attributed it to being more "attuned" to that particular thing for the next few days. You notice it more because it was just brought to your attention.

Many folks don't believe in coincidences - I'm on the fence about them. Part of me wants to believe that the Universe is trying to tell me something. Kind of a Matrix thing. Or I'm seeing gray Kia Optimas everywhere because I just went to the car dealership and looked at one.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but whatever the reason behind the phenomenon it's more common than you think.

I think we are " connected " much more deeply than we even know or could imagine, to one another, to everything else. I mean, we don't even really " see " things, we just interpret them to be what we think we see them as.

The whole " follow your gut " concept really started my belief in this, because I have digestion disorders and that saying meant more than I thought it could.

If you remember that we are not just our own minds and body, we also have a trillion or more bacteria and other organisms living on us, that depend on our bodies survival for their own.

Now what if these organisms are conscious? And they have been talking to us ever since we were born.

let's just say, I don't buy into the whole concept that you need what we have to be intelligent.

I totally agree with you, when it happens to me it's with numbers. And always when I'm spiritually fit and on the right path. As you said 'keep going that way' I find it comforting. a reply to: Abysha

Things like that seem to happen quite a bit in this world. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It seems like conversations go in cycles in society, some things are said a lot for a while, then you don't hear about the stuff for a year or two then it seems to come around again. You'll get used to it eventually. These cycles are a normal part of local society, I think people hear someone talking about something and then it is on their mind and they repeat it again like a parrot.

Nothing supernatural, the matrix is not broken, it is just a weird thing people do. I actually don't even notice it anymore, I sort of expect it to occur.

It's neither a phenomenon nor a disease. It is very real, but also very common and is also often confused with deja vu. You simply have a pension for noticing odd details and piecing them together (which by the way is a good trait for detectives and spies).

As for the tax thing, it is like that your father saw the facebook post and was talking about such or perhaps someone else he was talking to posted said such because it was in his or their mind. Same could be said for your mother as well.

As for coincidence, there is no such thing. However, when certain things trigger other things in your head there is also a highly likely chance that that first thing will trigger a similar effect in someone else and thus they may say something that is along the lines of what you are thinking.

Oh, and also there is the possibility of slight telekinesis or thought sharing.

Synchronicity. It can get really weird at times.
I experience it often.

Some of it can also be cell phones, computer microphones and smart TV's with microphones in them that listen to words and phrases and then display ad's and facebook suggestions. For example, I was talking to some people over my wired headset on my PS3 and a game was mentioned, then I went to my computer and got ad's for that game (first time getting that game ad).

Now, if words from the TV are self typing the self into address bars and what not, its time to turn that operating system "feature" off.

Maybe try not to distrust yourself so much. You are probably hearing it more right now.

As well, the film Dazed and Confused is the swan song of my generation. The song itself was written by Led Zeppelin, I'm sure both are playing out there somewhere right now.

The more popular something is the more likely you are to hear of it.

I don't know if maybe it's just that we come across so many phrases, song references, etc., that once in awhile a crazy combination of coincidence comes up and we notice it.

Or, intermingling of Matrix code, or "Framework" code for those who watched the latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Ah, good catch! That will certainly ramp up the experiences of this phenomenon, although, at least for now, it's a bit more overt way than the experiences not caused by our spying devices.

That's actually due to a clever but also sneaky means of Ultrasonic marketing / advertising.

Ultrasonic Marketing - Yes this is sneaky...

Two years ago, after BadBIOS, some German researchers created a proof of concept to see if transferring data across high frequency audio was possible to jump the air gap (arstechnica.com... ... ble-sound/). "Using nothing more than the built-in microphones and speakers of standard computers, the researchers were able to transmit passwords and other small amounts of data from distances of almost 65 feet." IMO, that advertisers keep basing their technological "progress" off of malware research and techniques is very telling.

It happens to me, if I use my PC and search for something, if I happen to goto a site that uses the ultrasonic or other secret advertising, they can actually sync your devices so that you'd see ads for whatever is closest to the category that you were looking at on that website.

So that when you log off, even if you viewed that website in incognito mode or were signed into a different account, you'd still see those likeminded ads on your other devices in the nearby radius.

I'm in the digital marketing / advertising space and have learned about beacons which can kinda do the same thing, only when you physically walk into a store it will push sales or ads, but normally you need to have an app that listens to the beacons, this ultrasonic stuff is very intrusive.

Tranceopticalinclined, I don't know what is worse, devices that communicate with my internet service provider or get linked up by ultrasonics. If it was just the speakers doing it, you could make an audio filter to block anything over 19-20KHz.

Yeah, it's a sneaky world we live in now.

From what I have experienced, it's having a lot to do with your smartphone, when to download apps, the permissions you give those apps, some of them are running ALL THE TIME listening and waiting, maybe not listening to your voice but listening for that frequency trigger.

So far, i've only seen my phone receive these ad bumps, because my phone has apps that most likely use the mic or find a loophole for them to use an app's mic permissions.

I'm sure headphones could help, but it's still really intrusive.

My Nana used to tell me that those moments when " everything lines up and reminds you to stop and notice" were really a moment when The Creator passed his hand over your soul. I've always thought of her words when I pet my dog and he melts into it.

Life happens, but so too does love. It is good to remember that often.
