10/10 thread. How can I put in a formal request to the mods to sticky this on the home page. Your use of exquisite language combined with the thought provoking subject in which you chose is truly breathtaking. I award you with zero points and may god have mercy on your soul.

He was talking about ISIS that cut off Christians heads. This was broadcasted on news years ago, too, by others.

Would you have reacted the same if any other broadcaster/person on news said "ISIS is beheading Christians"?

No president has never said in a speech over and over "cut off the heads"...he is instilling fear in his people. (I am not one of them) and it is unacceptable now for children to watch their president speak.

You have no idea how I raise my child so it be best if you do not comment on it, thanks

And if you think it is bad to watch the news with your children then I feel sorry for yours. At least I give my child the choice to be inquisitive about current events.

Yes I do know how you rase your children. You plant then in front of the magic light box. Precondition their minds to accept their place in Plato's Cave...

Shadows dancing in firelight on the cave wall.

"TV News" is not reality.

Edit: "TV News" is the cover story.

really, you know me personally? Or you are just guessing that I plant my children in front of the TV.

BC, if you knew me personally, you would know that the "planting" aspect you talk of is NOT known in my house.

Oh, so you use the "bolting, crazy glue and duct-tape" method then, huh?

What a colourful first page , all that's missing is a source for the title's claim.

I am speaking of Trump, our new American President.

Isn't everybody.

sorry you are so bored. I got hounded by the little trumpets bc just saying "don" is not acceptable here.

I am looking for a link, it just happened, im finding that he is talking about chopping off heads a lot. It is probably a Trumpyism that we have to live with for at least 4 years. Still, cannot let small children watch their president.

Here is one instance of him talking about chopping off heads

No, I know TV News though...

Long, long time getting to where I sit. How many TV wars and elections you seen? You have young children, I guess not many.

You think the news reflects the reality on the ground, show them this...
and this from 60 years ago...
and this from Iraq...

Explain to them how your country builds bombs to drop on foreign lands and omits all that from the "current events" segments on their TV News. See what questions arise then...

sorry you are so bored.

Not your fault , a year and a half of Trump infestation on this site is starting to wear on me.
Nice mix of purples and reds though.

mix of purples and reds?

anyways, I cannot find what I saw on TV today, I was working out, the sound was not on and I was reading the screen. It could be a replay of a past speech.

Anyways, whatever it was does not matter, I just couldn't believe how hard he is trying to instill fear in his followers. Its disgusting...and Im upset that I have to keep the president's speeches away from my child.

Thanks.
By decapitated he means took out the leadership not actual decapitation , although I remember reports that they did decapitate Saddam when they hung him but that was unintentional I believe.

Why you would let your children watch the news at all is....

Really?

Watching the news and reading news papers was required when I went to school.

They called it current events.

Also it's a sign of intelligence to be inquisitive.

How do you know 1) the child's age? And 2) the child's sex and 3) the child's level of intelligence?

My son's were watching the news and reading the news paper at age nine. Seven for the youngest who is also politically involved and may end up in government himself in the not too distant future.
I'm confused by you people. You intentionally keep your kids dumbed down by not letting them watch the news ?

What's worse, the president talking about it or the people actually doing it?

Not talking about it doesn't make it go away. This is a thing that happens. The "news" talks about murder, rape, people dying in fires, bombings, etc. every day... And you let your children watch that?

And then you have a problem with the president talking about it?

The "news" talks about more detailed grim reality than all the presidents ever combined.

Our Presidents should NOT be instilling fear in the people, and they should also be sensible enough for a child to watch.

The news does not instill fear in the people, it is what it is, take it for what you can, beware of fake news (but that is internet only). It can be rough, but there is a big difference when listening to our President speak and listening to the news in general.

See that's the thing. We can address the dude any way we want. It's called freedom. I won't call him president. I don't even capitalize the t in trump. Ever. Unless it happens to be the first word in a sentence he doesn't get a capitol t .

If the president needs to talk about current events, and those events include beheading then no, not really. No difference at all. Except the news will follow up their beheading news with a drunk driver killing a family and maybe an armed robbery and kidnapping. That's worse in my book. And yes, they are installing fear in people. Watch nothing but the news and you'd be afraid to leave your house in a week.

I'm no Trump fanboy but come on, the "news" is the worst pusher of fear the western world has ever known. They do it every single day.
