A photo of a frozen pike eating a bass has left many confused internet users wondering: “How is this possible?”

Brothers Anton and Alex Babich were ice fishing on Wawasee lake in northern Indiana when they spotted the incredible sight.

Anton took a photo and posted it on Facebook with the caption: “Out ice fishing in the rain and saw something you don't see everyday. A pike is frozen in action eating a big bass in the ice! The bass was around 14" so you get an idea of the pike's size!! Crazy.”

Would make a great trophy for your wall. What a find!

Just wanted to post this to get away from the doom and gloom for a minute.

Check out the link.

I caught a pig (largemouth) one time that had a live bull frog lodged in his throat, that was pretty cool as well. Also have seen pike cleaned with baby ducks in it stomach, kind of like a 2 for 1 catch... fish and duck meat, fine dining.

That's pretty rad - I'll have to show this to my dad who is an avid fisherman. We have both of these fish in Lake Champlain by where I live. Pike are nasty-looking buggers

The dude said he saw it earlier and then came back to cut it out. Then he took the pictures. Something smells fishy about this.

See the fox frozen in the lake?? I think it was somewhere in Europe.

Reminds me of the old song of yore...

There's a dead salmon frozen in a water fall

Hope it is real. Makes one wonder what else is happening we never see? Amoebae living and dying by the million under the ice of Europa, attack ships on fire off the shores of Orion...

Wife and I were fishing for perch as bait on ultra-light tackle in very shallow water (had to pull the motor up). We'd taken the day off work to go fishing. We caught a bunch of perch, and were ready to move.

Reeling the last small fish in a giant fish, looked like a gator, rolled on the water and slammed my rod down to the gunwale. It was a huge Muskie! Told the wife I was going to boat the fish, or lose it in the process.

45 minutes later I had the fish up to the boat. It was a biggin', 47" and 30lbs. Wife tried to net it, I tried to gaff it (thinking it was bigger...48" was legal), but missed. Damn fish jumped over the side and right into the boat!!!

We let it go, but it was a crazy day. The ice wasn't even off the lake yet, and we were catching fish like nobody's business.

Never caught a giant fish like that on ultra-light tackle. I was glad to let her go though.
