Scientists from the UK, Canada and Italy say that through observations of irregularities in the cosmic microwave background they have found there is substantial evidence supporting a holographic explanation , as much evidence as for the theory of inflation they say.

Professor Kostas Skenderis of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton explains: "Imagine that everything you see, feel and hear in three dimensions (and your perception of time) in fact emanates from a flat two-dimensional field. The idea is similar to that of ordinary holograms where a three-dimensional image is encoded in a two-dimensional surface, such as in the hologram on a credit card. However, this time, the entire universe is encoded."

Professor Skenderis comments: "Holography is a huge leap forward in the way we think about the structure and creation of the universe. Einstein's theory of general relativity explains almost everything large scale in the universe very well, but starts to unravel when examining its origins and mechanisms at quantum level. Scientists have been working for decades to combine Einstein's theory of gravity and quantum theory. Some believe the concept of a holographic universe has the potential to reconcile the two. I hope our research takes us another step towards this." The scientists now hope their study will open the door to further our understanding of the early universe and explain how space and time emerged.

Played on the surface of a Black Hole perhaps ?

How utterly cool and durn fascinating. Any idea on who's running the projector?

Howdy, Brudda.

So kinda like all the universe's black holes are projectors?? Projecting the universe into some medium or void?

There is a theory that our Universe is information held at the edge of a Black Hole with our existence being as a result of that information being played across the surface of the Black Hole.
Mind boggling stuff but cool to contemplate.

Good to see ya mate

Finding the projectionist would mean we had met God I believe.

Every Galaxy does have a super massive black hole.

Philosophy, as we know, birthed both Science & Metaphysics and It seems the two just might meet after all.

Peter O'Toole--as the Scientist in the movie "Creator"--said something along the lines of, "I have the feeling that one day we will look into our microscopes and find ourselves staring directly into the eye of God."

Our science is becoming evermore metaphysical and that, to me, is truly mind-blowing. What cometh next?

Michael Talbot has a book titled "Holographic Universe" which examined this idea. It is an "old" book by physics standards, but an interesting one.

It also gets into how the Holographic Universe model would allow for all the weird phenomenon of the Universe that we here at ATS know and love.

The book is freely available on Internet Archive: Holographic Universe, Michael Talbot

Michael Talbot - wiki

Michael Coleman Talbot (September 29, 1953 – May 27, 1992)[1] was an American author of several books highlighting parallels between ancient mysticism and quantum mechanics, and espousing a theoretical model of reality that suggests the physical universe is akin to a hologram based on the research and conclusions of David Bohm and Karl H. Pribram.

According to Talbot ESP, telepathy, and other paranormal phenomena are a product of this holographic model of reality.

I don't know if it is exactly the same thing as this new research is discussing, but in general is the same concept!

Thanks for posting, gortex!

That's how you came in existence as well.. Dad firing your information in a Black Hole.

So information > black hole > existence. Seems fitting alright.

This is definitely read and ponder about in the shower material.

I just wonder how holograms are being "projected" into other holograms and of course what is outside of that bubble.

That is what has always blown my mind.
What is on the other side of or what we are pushing up against outside of all the universe bubbles. Even if it all folds in on itself........I'm done. My head hurts

We are just one crazy fractal

It is Universe itself--it is conscious and we live in the matrix-hologram-simulation dream world of our own choosing. We seem to have volunteered to be a part of the simulation to experience this.

I think we are aliens from the future experiencing what the human beings did and how they made it through the point in their history where they faced annihilation or salvation. It is so compelling that we forget that it is a simulation and who are. We are so immersed in "this reality" that we forgot when we came from and who we really are. This explains Plato's cave metaphor and all "matrix" references. The smart monkey men figured out to explain the origins of this universe, encode their history, and we get to watch-partake of the pretty light show!

May explain a couple of things like the uneventful 2012 (end of the simulation?) and MEs (somebody figured out to vary the simulation to "wake us up" while inside of it... a name spelled differently is a message and wake up call).

Or maybe I had too much chocolate covered coffee beans this morning!!!

I guess the flat earth theory isn't wrong. lol

I always wondered if scientists detecting this. Aren't just seeing an artifact of our 3 dimensional universe existing in a 4th dimension.

if our Universe is a hologram, therefore by proxy, our explanation of the Universe is false.
think about it.

This is one of those things my intuition alarm bells go off like crazy and I believe it is because of the use of 2-d, or "flat" to describe the "membrane" on which the information is stored.
This kind of thinking seems to be in the way of truly understanding the universe. Information is faster than the speed of light, there are indications that space and time don't exist on a quantum level at all.

I believe it is really more a matter of shared spin and velocity what you perceive as your 3-d reality, while space and time are just a product of that. The event horizon on which the information gets displayed is "solid" due to the pressure of the information contained within, but this "within" is the entire universe without time or space (matter).
In theory you would "just" have to adjust the spin of the quantum conglomerate that is your consciousness and you would experience an environment millions of years in the future or past.

Does this imply that the flat earthers is on the right track.? Or are they just fading into a different reality matrix.?
