I have a question for the masses, as I am not sure this is normal.
I know street lights and things go on and off all the time, but why does it seem like anytime I walk under one, it goes out. Just last week I was walking home and I walked down a cresent and every single one went out. Not all at once mind you, just as I passed under them as I went down the road. Wierd.
Another something to note, is why some people have the "magic touch" for me it seems like evertime I get around a peice of electronics, it doesn't seem to work properly or there is some sort of malfunction. Not all the time just enough to notice it. Yet if I let some one else intervene, the item works fine. Same for machines, someone could be trying and strugling trying to start a car, motor bike, generator, anything really, yet if I give it a try its like there was nothing wrong with it in the first place?
Whats up with that? Some insight please?

Sounds like a case of being singled out for some reason or just a coinsidence. I feel the same way about things, but I cannot prove these things because I cant break it down into a statistic to show that something strange is happening to me that doesnt happen to someone else. I would love it if you could record these anomolies and compare them to someone else. I believe this stuff happens but I have no insight as to why or how.

some people are just like this. Its a fact.
They are called SLIDERS and that stands for street light 'sumpin sumpin' electrical reciever/senders.
Look it up here on ATS...lots of threads about it......lots of folks find this to be true of themselves. I think under PARANORMAL.
It happens more often with me when a strong emotion is involved, like being extra happy or extra sad, or angry.....the lights just blow out. I had to put new bulbs in my bedroom today after hollering at my son

SLIDERS end up buying car batteries way more often than should be needed.
Not to mention light bulbs.

Some chick in England is so bad she messes up cash redgisters at her work and the equipment, so they dont allow her to touch the stuff anymore. You can look up her story and others right here on ATS. They say you can learn to control this and turn off street lights at will as a cool party trick.

LOL. That will happen. Street lights, tv's that refuse to turn off, phones that ring once for no reason, computers, radios and such turning off or loosing connection for no reason. It isn't all the time, you'll get a break :-)

I also have that same thing happening. What is really fun, is when I drive down a busy street and all of the lights change at the intersections to green... I can be walking or driving down the street and the street lights go off as I am right under them, also when I have gone into the grocery store or some other place, the lights flicker. I love it! It is funny when people are with me and it happens....

LMAO. This is conspiracy at its height. Maybe the lights just went out and it had nothing to do with you at all. Sliders???? Another TV show that people think are real..........it is just a show, nothing more people. LOL

It is real and it happens all of the time to a lot of people, including myself. Conspiricy? Why do you think it is a conspiricy? I want to hear your theory. I am very curious as to why you think it is.... Thanks.

Oh it DOES happen. Not consistantly - for me anyway.
I thought maybe the street light thing was just because they were sensative to the headlights and went out as I approached. well, that turned out to be wrong. A few years ago I started walking for a few hours in the evening after the kids went to bed. Those lights had no reason to go out then, I didn't have so much as a flashlight with me.

My grandmother can't wear watches because after just 1/2 hour or less - she zaps the battery. This don't happen to me though.

I'd blame it on the fact that our body does use electricity and magnatism as well - maybe sinse everyones body is different - some have these things happen at different hormonal or emotional states.
But when the radio or cd player goes off just before my BF calls?

We all carry electricity. The "aura" is really just an electro-magnetic field.

As stated before it could be coincidence, or something like an electro-static discharge that shorts things out.

DO you find yourself being shocked alot, not emotionally but when you say touch a metal door handle. I know this is common but for some it happens all the time, if there is heavy ionization it just gets worse.

So maybe you have a chemical imbalance like not enough something or other or too much something or other that is shorting things out.

I would suggest keeping an "incident" diary so you can tell if it happens as often as it seems or it is really just a random coincindence.

Stuff liek that happens to me sometimes especially electronics messing up and actign weird. Oh and batteries going from being fully charged to being empty and vice versa just from me holding them. weird i have no clue why this happens

This kind of stuff only seems to happen to me when i dont think about it.

Thats what i mean, just when i reached my hand to type, my brother loudly opened his door. Maybe coincidence maybe not...

I have the same feeling quite often. I strongly believe, that my computer turns off whenever I try to nibble someone with it. Aliens are behind it, and they are meant to punish me for disturbing some guys in a mean and faceless manner. But some time I will learn, that it's no use messing with aliens, or else my Windows or PC will gets busted.

The TV show Sliders was about people sliding through dementions and has NOT ONE thing to do with the actual phenomena of the human SLIDERS issue...google it yourself....search THIS site.....put your money where your mouth is and LEARN something about an issue prior to spouting off like know it all teenager........

You, yourself CHOOSE to be on this site so take a little advise here and....

LOL Never thought about that. ALL the time. And not just on metal (ouch), but on people and other things as well. LOL

That happens to me and everyone I know. After minutes of intense research I have discovered it is due to crappy city street lights.

I do believe some people have more energy around them/in them? than others and this can affect electrical appliances I suppose. Whether it's the mind or the body, I do not know.

I'll look into that

I get shocked on everything I touch, metal or not. ESPECIALLY people. I'll keep a journal when I try to record and compare to some one else.

I appologize. I didn't really look into it well enough.

Heehee....

Opps, I spelled conspiracy wrong.... lol. Yeah, I also wanted to mention that I get shocked a lot, especially when I touch people or metal. Every time I go to open my mailbox, I always see electricity shooting off the tip of the key as I put it in...I love it. The only thing I don't like about it is when I get static in my hair...

I believed I addressed this topic in another thread somewhere. People tend to notice more when something changes as oppose to when everything stays the same. It is the changes that catch your eye. No one ever claims to be able to keep street lamps on when they walk under them because the constant doesn't draw your attention.

I've worked with computers a long time in various office environments and even though I haven't done an actual scientific study, it does seem like there are certain people who somehow affect electronic components. I have seen those that constantly have computer problems no matter which computer you give them or where you locate them. Some of this can be attributed to user error, but not all.

My personal belief is that living things do indeed have auras that operate on some level that we don't usually perceive. The idea that our spiritual selves are capable of operating outside of our physical selves can be found everywhere from Carlos Castaneda to George Lucas. My opinion is that there probably is something to it.
