Avatars and how to create them.

Dear All,

I have read several fantastic threads on Avatars for this site and still have no idea how the heck I can put one on my profile? I am clearly just a simpleton whom needs things put into laymen's terms in order to fully understand it. I will say that once I am guided I tend not to make the same mistake twice and am capable of learning as all humans are. This however is a really hard experience to try and rectify and from previous threads its not an uncommon issue.

My concern is that there maybe new members or numbskulls like myself on ATS who would like to know how to put Avatars on their profile and can not find the relevant information nor may they want to send avatars to others to edit and then apply via another person.

If this has something to do with only old members having avatars as there is/was a bug in the system years ago (as per my previous thread about stars) Then please ignore this thread as I am not after any arguments. If at all possible I would like a simple instruction on how to do this for all of us Newbies and slightly slower types.

Please note this is not a rant nor a whinge and any help here would be most welcome.

You can use any photo... Even family shots. Your dog, you.... Anything. You don't need to CREATE one... but there are members here with really great ways to make a unique one.

I change mine like 5-10 times a month out of about 25 I have... Depending on my mood. Check this reply again tomorrow or so and I'll change this one again.

Thanks for the kindness, I am still really struggling, I have an image that is not in anyway disrespectful and infact I think is cool and would love it. I think I missed out on the Avatar creator I read a thread where people sent them ideas and these guys managed to make amazing avatars. There are some really impressive ones I must say.

Thanks for the response and I have noticed a few people that have the skills to be able to change avatars on the regular. I am certain ill work it out as there is plenty of information out there. Enjoy your Avatar change haha!

Consider: Do you wish to be visually represented as one and only one thing? Or are you more than that overall?

Either way is fine of course... Personal choice is as you see fit... For you...

In this 3 Dimension world, we are only visually represented as one true image, which is the image of our creator.
It will be down to you to see through the vail of the image to see more than just the eyes see if you like!
Chopping and changing is for schizophrenics or people typically unhappy with their lot, (grass is greener types)
Also the image I have of myself will be very different to the image you have of me.

I assume you really love space? I do too just not the same kind.
