In my mind, Comey tried to do the right thing. I think he'll be okay. Firing him only sends the exact opposite message you want as president (#1), and (#2) we can't lose sight of the circumstances surrounding Comey and the toxic environment he was in when he did what he did. AG Lynch is a far different matter, but remember Comey couldn't have said anything at all if the investigations into Clinton remained open. By closing them he could talk about them. People forget this.

I'm glad you brought up Comey.
Rumor has it that he is now being referred to as " Smooth Operator " !!!

You see this is the difference here. Obama saw that increasing Government jobs was a good thing since it provided people work. Trump sees increasing the private sector jobs while reducing Government expenditures is how it should be done....

Trump is committed to creating millions of jobs in government-funded public works projects like the Wall, tunnels, roads and other infrastructure development.

Granted, Trump jobs will be low-pay grunt work, not middle-class. So I guess I can see how some might consider that to be "better."

Come on people left or right does anyone here feel this is wrong?

Nope. Not wrong. Just stupid. Government machinery is cumbersome and the wheels move slowly (for good reason). But Trump is getting rid of the people who know how to move things along - those who are best able to help him do what he wants to do.

Trump's getting rid of the professionals who can help him - while taking on opposition in his own party - and despite the fact that the system's checks and balances are there to prevent any President from establishing a full dictatorship. There are hoops in place designed to protect the democracy, and soon, he will have to jump.

So Trump signed a pile of Executive Orders. Big deal. Not much will actually happen or come to fruition. Not even the "Wall." He got some money approved, sure - but given the state of the US construction industry and the lack of legal workers, it is virtually impossible to build the thing without illegal labor. Great play Shakespeare.

Like I said, stupid.

So the best case scenario is Trump crashes and burns on the checks and balances, gets removed for incompetency, Pence takes the reins, and has to clean up a pile of bull excrement before he can move forward on the Republican agenda.

Like I said, stupid. Really stupid.

Although I don't think the wall will ever happen and was used as a political tool, low paying jobs are needed too. There is something called self-respect when one actually works for their money.

Why diminish low paying job creation?

There was something many years ago called the TVA years ago implemented by our government that actually helped this country, by provided grunt-work job, and put people out of work back to work, hopefully Trump will implement something similar.

Maybe if the government did something like the TVA again we would start to see this country, getting off its ass and feeling good about itself again.

I am not "diminishing low paying job creation" - just pointing out the contradiction in wiping out middle-class professional positions while prioritizing job creation for low-class labor.

In fact, I support publicly-funded job creation - as an essential transition to the coming "Age of Automation." Quite soon, there will be no jobs for humans. ...What then?

From physicist Stephen Hawking and billionaire Jeff Greene:

…A report put out in February 2016 by Citibank in partnership with the University of Oxford predicted that 47% of US jobs are at risk of automation. In the UK, 35% are. In China, it's a whopping 77% — while across the OECD it's an average of 57%.

…And three of the world's 10 largest employers are now replacing their workers with robots.

…Automation will, "in turn will accelerate the already widening economic inequality around the world," Hawking wrote. "The internet and the platforms that it makes possible allow very small groups of individuals to make enormous profits while employing very few people. This is inevitable, it is progress, but it is also socially destructive."

...[url=http://www.forbes.com/sites/chasewithorn/2015/12/07/billionaire-jeff-greene-says-technology-will-kill-white-collar-jobs-hosts-conference-o n-inequality/#382f699e58e6]"What globalization did to blue collar jobs and the working class economy over the past 30 or 40 years, big data, artificial intelligence and robotics will do to the white collar economy -- and at a much, much faster pace,” says Greene.

It’s a problem that will only exacerbate the growing gap between the rich and the poor, he claims, because we’ve left ourselves unprepared for the inevitable automation of many jobs traditionally done by humans.

…“There are a lot of great things coming from technology,” says Greene. “It’s going to democratize medicine, healthcare, education, which is fantastic. The only concern I have is, you can’t leave behind the bulk of the population.”

Can you explain low paying grunt work to me?

If there is one department that needs to get rid of people at the top it is the State Department. Specifically, anyone in a decision making capacity while Hillary Clinton was in charge. They were by definition complicit in all of the atrocious things she did, and if it were up to me they would all (Hillary included) be sharing cells on the same block.

The kind of stuff illegals immigrants usually do. For example:

IMMIGRANT WORKERS IN THE CONSTRUCTION LABOR FORCE

As the housing industry gains momentum and the demand for workers increases, labor shortages quickly rise on the list of the top impediments to housing recovery. Our earlier research published in January this year shows that immigrants have been an important source of new recruits to the construction industry. ...

... The analysis shows that while foreign-born workers represent a substantial component of the US construction labor force, accounting for almost 23 percent, their share is even higher in construction trades, reaching 28 percent.

Concentration of immigrants is particularly high in some of the trades needed to build a home, like carpenters, painters, drywall/ceiling tile installers, brick masons, and construction laborers – trades that require less formal education but consistently register some of the highest labor shortages in the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI) surveys and NAHB Remodeling Market Index (RMI).

In some states, reliance on foreign-born labor is even more pronounced. Immigrants comprise close to 41 percent of the construction workforce in California and close to 40 percent in Texas. In New York, 35 percent of the construction labor force are foreign-born and in Nevada, one in three construction industry workers come from abroad.

No Trump is getting rid of bureaucrats, people who's only goal is to create more and more red tape, making doing anything impossible without going through more and more layers of bureaucracy, ensuring nothing can function without their say so and know how, thus ensuring their livelihood. All they do is create a problem, then offer to deal with it, while maintaining the problem in such a way only they can deal with it. The truth is THEY are the problem and are why nothing gets done. The more red tape, the more "vital" they are and the more they get paid. Their entire job benefits by creating delays and then helping others navigate them for profit. They don't help speed things up, they slow things down.

Ya lol...grunt work never been so good..

So someone explain to me why Mexicans are special? There are a lot of people in the world that would love to come here on a work visa, not just the Mexicans...why not offer that to them too?

Also someone explain to me why being illegal and not a legal worker on a work visa is better? Do many of you think these workers that come here, paying a large amount to do so, risk their lives, underpaid, at the whim of their employers, sex trade and so on are in better system?

We all get it..we need them, we truly do, but an official worker in the system with a restricted work visa is best for not just us but them too, and it allows the whole world to participate and not just Mexicans.

I think AI technology and robots are something all of us need to address very soon. No argument there it's a real thing and it will progress exponentially soon.

This is a worldwide phenomenon that will soon, and I believe by 2025 will be in full swing. Not sure what the answer is when robots are doing everything for us basically, but maybe it'll be a time for self-exploration.

Hopefully. But not so fun if you're starving and cold.
