They look cool, for certain, but the lines aren't the same.
Looking at the pics side-by-side, you can see that the lines on the glaciers are all lengthwise, and smoother, while the "dragon" pic shows crosswise lines that look much like scales. Even zooming in, to see some irregularities on the glacier photo, it's not the same as the regular-looking scale pattern on the other. Good to consider, of course, and a great pic of the glaciers, as well.
Besides the patterns, though, the anomalies in the Himalayan pic seem to be above the mountains, as opposed to following their valleys, and to even intersect with the clouds at some points.
Still, best alternate possibility offered so far. I don't think it's correct, but it's not bad.
