Now we have a new poll that show a huge number of people in California actually don't like the sanctuary city concepts.

Not sure how accurate, but it might be close to what the claims are.

Sanctuary Cities are going to be under fire soon from the Feds.

How will they clean up this mess?

Poll: 74 Percent of Californians Want to End Sanctuary Cities

The vast majority of residents living in California would like to see sanctuary cities barred, a state home to multiple jurisdictions which refuse to abide by federal immigration laws.

Roughly 74 percent of California residents want to see an end to sanctuary city policies, according to a poll by UC Berkeley.

The issue to end sanctuary cities in the state crosses racial and party lines, with 65 percent of Hispanics registering their agreement, while 70 percent of independents, 82 percent of Republicans, and 73 percent of Democrats feel the same.

During President Donald Trump’s term, sanctuary cities could see a cut in federal funding and pushback from the Department of Justice under likely Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Note:
Put this in Political Madness by error.

Wanted it in "dissecting disinformation".

I suspect something.

See if you can spot it.

I dont see anyone campaigning for making it easier to gain citizenship, rather its just flood the area and then it will be too late to do anything practical without some large push(by officers or soldiers, etc.)

Im in California. I want it to end too. One of my employees came here illegally twice and came back the third time legally. He is glad he did

Did that poll include all the millions of illegal immigrants that are registered to vote in California?

Hopefully Trump will be able to lead that charge to end sanctuary cities.

He was deported the first two times. Now he has nothing to worry about, and he makes 50 grand a year in a steel mill

Isn't it funny how long sanctuary citizens have been around.

And how accepting people are of it ?

When it comes to gun control, and the affordable care act.

Federal Law is supreme!

Exception to that rule ?

Immigration LAW.

I am with Trump on this.

If they aren't going to enforce federal laws. Don't expect federal funds.

When I went to the polls, I saw people who couldn't speak English. Im pretty sure they were illegals. I really couldn't believe it. It was hard to accept

Poll obviously oversamples Californians with gainful employment who pay net income taxes.

There should really be a thorough investigation into California's registered voters.

There should also be voter ID laws in place. I'm sick of people telling me that having an ID to vote is racist.

Yep, there was no ID required. They asked me my address, and had me sign on the line. Funny thing was there was a Taco truck parked right outside the poll booth....

Yeah, if you don't know the language you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Shouldn't be eligible for citizenship either.

I'm actually working on becoming a dual citizen of my wife's home country in Europe and that test will be completely done in their native language. That's normal most places. I can't show up and take a citizenship test in English in a non-English speaking country.

Should be the same here.

My neighbor doesn't speak a lick of English. But is able to acquire a home loan and purchase a house. Guess who won this state? Clinton.

I once queued up outside the American embassy in Toronto (1996). The Canadians around me were astonished by the number of people who didn't speak English or have basic etiquette to queueing.

My 2 cents:

Federal funding should be curtailed on the state level as well. If a state isn't putting pressure on its cities to abide by federal law, then that state should be addressed via the funding leash.

California may provide an enormous amount of tax revenue to the Federal government (they still pay more than they take, unlike many other states), but by God if we are to have a Federalist concept running our Republic, then they need to toe the line.

Side note: it worries me that racially driven motivations might actually exist as a silent majority, as racists and bigots would never admit to it openly. While I do think this is a good move, i don't want to see hypernationalist xenophobia take over either.

The way you originally wrote it you said that your EMPLOYEE was illegal. Meaning that either you hired someone illegally or knew that the company hired someone illegally. Reword your statement next time. Such as " We hired a once illegal citizen that has been deported twice, the third time he came back legally. He is glad he did."

See the wonders of choosing the right words?
