Lets look at the FACTS. Russia and Putin CLEARLY support a Trump presidency.

And so did the common people, hence why he got elected. Not Russia.

The OP's theory gets completely and unequivocally blown out of the water if one compares Obamas and Trumps use of the word "I" and "we"

That's a fact, not the hooey this entire rediculous thread has as a premise as it is posted eight years too late and has the wrong individual under focus.

This was actually my first assumption from the start.

Does anyone really think Russia wants to be buddies with the U.S. on the world stage??

Yes, I do think its in both the US and Russian interests to be buddies on the world stage. No, I don't think they want a war with the US.

Objectively prove me wrong.

Leonid speaks for all Russians? Do all Russians think Putin is wonderful?

You did not read what I wrote, did you?

I don't just read what he says. I read what many many Russians are writing. Overall they say pretty much the same thing.

There is nothing Russia has that can be traded with the US.

mail order brides
a ride to the ISS

but we already get those things so closer relations wouldn`t affect that.

I'm not saying they want war with us. But I'm saying they don't want to share the throne with us as a world power. If they have a chance to cripple the US and place themselves ahead of us for control and influence and power they will certainly take it and run and never look back.

I'm not saying we should be enemies but you also need to careful who you choose as your friends as well.

Trump and Putin are soul buddies, they understand each other. And Putin probably has a video of Trump.

It is hard to trust the leadership when, it seems IMO, they keep us divided intentionally. People believe that only have a few options to align with and have chosen to accept the flaws of that option out of.....I don't even know.

I HOPE I AM BEING VERY CLEAR WHEN I SAY RUSSIA'S SUPPORT OF TRUMP MAY BE BASED SOLEY UPON THEIR ANALYSIS THAT TRUMP'S MENTAL STATE MAY LEAD TO THE FUTURE INSTABILITY AND DEMISE OF AN ENEMY...AMERICA.

Ok Mr Shouty (only kidding, I know it was just this one bit)...

I nearly started a thread like this, in fact I had it all typed up, almost ready to post and someone rang my doorbell, when I finally got back to my laptop.it had died and I lost it all.

I don't necessarily believe Russia actually tampered with the electoral process, I'm on the fence but leaning on the "it didn't happen" side. I tried for a while to think of a reason they would.and I realised it was staring me in the face as I read the forums here at ATS. The current in-fighting happening across the States and the world about Trump, it's really making America look foolish, weak even, that is a score for Russia....

You could easily add "Boredom" to that list.

True, indeed! *__-

And yet as you stated in the thread below...whose truth?

There is no 'who's Truth', there is just unique Perspectives of the One Universal Truth, Reality.
I'll stand by my words;
"That's too bad, because "what is Truth" is a philosophical question. Don't worry, I'll keep it simple; Everything that you (and everyone else) can possibly perceive is Truth, from dreams of unicorns... to the sun! "!

For there to be 'falsity', it can only appear under very certain conditions.
"The atmosphere is made of solid quartz" is Truth.
It is 'false' when reduced to a 'geological/scientific' (and perhaps philosophical) boundary, and exclude... 'poetic', for instance.

Look, Russia has the GDP of Italy.

Russia is facing a HUGE population decline by 2030.

Western Europe is becoming less and less reliant on Russian oil and gas.

China is causing pressure and competition for Russia.

Russia is a scared bear in a cage, rattling it before she becomes to weak to do so. Putin knows this, and is trying to assert dominance and at the same time sow seeds of dissent and discord in the west.

Anything that weakens the west makes Russia stronger.

Trump divides America and weakens America. This is good for Russia, bad for the United States.

That's pretty much it. Putin and Russia are not our friends, haven't been our friends, and won't be our friends. Period. They are rivals. Not enemies, but rivals.

And as rivals, we shouldn't accept or put with interference in our politics.

"But WE interfere in other countries!"

Yes, yes we do.

You know what though? When the people of those countries discover this fact, they hold new elections and overthrow/kick out the dictators America put into power.
