Opening this arena up to Alternative News would create an avenue for more transparent politics and government imo.
We just want the media owned by these megaconglomerates out:
and independents in. You can have Young Turks in there.

Here comes Alex Jones and every other conservative blogger out there. What a disaster the next 4 years will be but no matter how bad it gets I'm sure conservatives will praise every mistake and blunder by Trump and the GOP, just like they are now.
Dont forget, possible random yelling s about brainforce during Trump's press conference. Don't be surprised if Trump says it too.

Oh no.
I can hear Alex Jones uncontrollably yelling things and selling Berkey things on the white house lawn.
Yikes!

Makes sense because "Alternative Media" has become reality.
And the standard "MSM" has been exposed for so many fake stories.

Who do you mean by "we" exactly? You're not even saying what the poster I was replying to was saying so the idea of a consensus seems a bit dubious. Yes, there has been a lot of consolidation of the media. As I said, I'm all for giving smaller outlets access.
What I am against and you should be against as well is a government attack on the media. It's ironic that as a private citizen, if I track a dozen known fabricated stories and report back to the community with a list of sites that republished straight up hoaxes (with links), fake news addicts pile on the bulls# about freedom of the press. Many of the same people who are opposed to me pointing out objective reality, easily corroborated independently, are also for an incoming administration banning media outlets that are critical while promoting outlets that suck up to them.
You can try to make it about "megaconglomerates" if you want but it's really about government weilding undue influence over the media. Trump isn't motivated by a desire to diversify media ownership, he's attempting to strong arm the media to silence critical voices.

Most of the MSM aren't news outlets, they are liberal propaganda purveyors. Just look at campaign donations, overwhelmingly the media donates to democrats. Do you honestly think their "news" coverage is fair and unbiased? Don't be naive. We need a real media, not liberal corporate shills masquerading as journalists.
