That would be a bad thing but they would have to ammendment the constitution to go to popular vote. Though they control the big population cities, they don't have most of the state's. So hopefully we'll endure a little longer.

I just wish we could get power back to the states and minimize the role of the feds.

So do I but honestly the whole concept of States rights and limited Federal governance is far too complex for most to fathom. The degree of ignorance about even the Electoral College is stunning. Obviously, Civics classes have gone horribly awry.
