Big fkn deal , Trump is trying to save us from a WW3 scenario with Russia the Left wing libs are trying to push .

It's amazing, frankly, how many grown adults around here still fall for the evil Russian propaganda.

It's like they're stuck in the 80's.

Yet the Saudis do business with many in both the private and public sector here while also funding jihad against the West and chopping off heads and....it's apparently just fine.

I do believe McConnell clipped McCain's wings a little and restricted the scope of committee investigations to the Russian Election hacking, Ryan may have done the same in the house.

... "Christmas Day, Gen. Flynn reached out to the ambassador, sent him a text and it said, 'I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to touching base with you and working with you, and I wish you all the best.' The ambassador texted him back wishing him a Merry Christmas as well," Spicer said.

— "And then subsequently on the 28th of December [the ambassador] texted [Flynn] and said, 'I'd like to give you a call, may I?' "

— "[Flynn] then took that call on the 28th and the call centered around the logistics of setting up a call with the president of Russia and the president-elect after he was sworn in. And they exchanged logistical information on how to initiate and schedule that call. That was it, plain and simple."

Yup, sounds like a Logan Act violation doesn't it.

The ONE THING all of this hysteria over the Trump / Putin bromance fails to present in a clear manner is;

What exactly IS Russia's 'evil' agenda?

I mean all I am basically hearing in this type of thread is blah blah blah, boo-hoo Trump won, THE RUSKIES are taking over.

Seriously, you might as well claim the boogeyman is trying to influence America right now too.

Until I see Russia do something other than pick a favorite horse in the election race, I am secondly not convinced that anything bad is about to happen.

Incoming Senate investigation. He's done.

Pretty much!

All I wish for is those so butt hurt and narcissistic over their person not winning the election and wanting to go to war against Russia?

Let you and your family and children step up and lead the way!

That stops them right in their tracks, because it's very easy to sit behind a keyboard and promote going to war and killing people, but how many of those who act this way are willing to be on the front line or promote sending members of their own family to die for their political conviction?

NOT MANY!

This crap is getting old.

Talking to a Russian government official does not make you a "stoge".

Hillary in a 2013 speech said she was in Putins inner sanctum and has bonded with him. So I guess using liberal logic she was either a Russian stoge or a Manchuria candidate,

This red scare crap is convincing absolutely nobody, but it is making people more anti democrat because it is clearly showing once again they have no ability to form coherent thoughts.

We may have a Logan Act violation here with Flynn.

"The Logan Act (1 Stat. 613, 18 U.S.C. § 953, enacted January 30, 1799 ) is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments having a dispute with the U.S. It was intended to prevent the undermining of the government's position."

Ok where was the proof of negotiations? And isnt That man authorized by trump to talk to him as well?

This is getting insane, but I don't know how connected Flynn really is to all this. He is unlikely to be one of the 4 from the FISA warrant.

The story is Guiliani has people in the FBIs New York office. They revolt on Comey, he folds, and goes with the Clinton investigation. Comey sits on Steele's intel and now he knows he's screwed either way so his only defense is a stonewall, but we don't know if it was for the sake of protecting perhaps the most sensitive national security investigation in US history. Meanwhile Guiliani dips out of sight, out of nowhere mind you (or right around the time he figured out the investigation into Russian banks was ongoing and combined with Steele's work), and McCain starts passing all these documents around Congress. The CIA is nowhere to be found in the reports, but we know they're lurking and 4 associates of Trump may or may not have been wiretapped in secret by the FBI through the supposed FISA warrant.

Comey may have some really insane information. This also means you have the NSA working electronic surveillance and they have access to literally everything Trump has been doing since at least October. One bank in Russia being targeted very specifically that is connected to a server in the Trump tower.

This story is insane. Bernstein, the same reporter who exposed Nixon, has been all over this. Next week might have some fireworks. Reporters are either going to humiliate themselves or they're going to finally get the credit they might actually deserve. Time will tell.

I think right now large swaths of the right wing are perhaps to young to understand history.

There used to be a Soviet EMPIRE, empire being the operative word. The USSR

There used be a wall separating East and West Germany.

Nobody could physically leave the Communist Soviet Empire without the governments permission and the Soviet Government corruptly ruled with an Iron Fist. It was illegal to speak out against the government and people that did were routinely jailed or killed, enforced by the KGB (where Putin got his start)

We engaged in a "Cold War" isolating the soviet regime until it crumbled under it's own failed tyranny.

This was President Reagan's watch..."Mr Gorbachev tear down that wall!"...

Democracy came to the Soviet Union and their economy struggled in it's birth and corruption by the old guard began to sprout.

Putin capitalized on this to seize power...rewrite the constitution to allow him to rule indefinitely...and bring his KGB friends and old corrupt Oligarchs into power and wealth. He brought back the KGB as the FSB...but now they operate more secretly...but still murder and jail dissidents and journalists.

During WW2 the Soviets lost over 10-20 Million troops...Figures vary, but all Russians agree it was the greatest national tragedy in their history.

When asked ..Putin's answer to what was the greatest national tragedy in Russia's history?

PUTIN "The breakup of the Soviet Union was the greatest geopolitical tragedy of the 20th century."

He has made clear that he wants to rebuild an EMPIRE...Take back the former soviet satellite states that declared their own democracies.

Thus his invasions of Crimea and Georgia before that..

even now...from April this year

TAMARASHENI, Georgia—The farmers awoke to find their wheat ripening inside another country.
South Ossetian troops and their Russian allies had worked through the night, sinking new border-marking poles across fields outside a hamlet called Tamarasheni in the golden hills of central Georgia. The Russians granted the local farmers 72 hours for an emergency harvest then ordered them to leave—forever.

www.politico.com...

The only thing stopping him is the NATO alliance...they are protecting those democracies that freed themselves from the Soviet Empire when it crumbled.

Thus Donald Trump weakening NATO and discrediting them...That is a game changer for Putin's Agenda. Without America standing in his way he is free to rebuild the empire through force.

I fail to see how communications of this nature between an incoming administration and Russian leadership to establish a diplomatic dialogue after the inauguration is in any way a bad thing.

I know liberals desperately want to believe there is something more sinister going on here, so I'm sure they will dive in soon with all kinds of allegations.

Should be entertaining.

actually there is something more sinister going on....enough so that the Senate intelligence committee just announced that they plan to open an investigation into all of this.

What''s more sinister is a certain group of political zealots willing to disrupt our peaceful transition of government because they didn't win nor get a trophy!

Don't you mean pee-ful transition of power? Sorry...cant help myself.

So you believe in the mattress conspiracy?

If it's found to be true? I don't know how I will be able to sleep at night!

Well...we know Don likes all things Golden...Toilets..sinks etc.

It is crazy...

What strikes me is Comey...The FBI has done some strange things under him.

Apparently Comey had this for months, but sat on it and dragged his feet...without sharing with NSA or CIA..the very people that would be able to vet the material..

Robert Hansen was assigned to find the Russian Mole in the FBI...which just happened to be him.

Real life can be stranger than fiction..

The CIA and NSA need to take a close look at Comey, he might be clean...but his actions have been strange.

Jill Stein was invited by Russian State Media principally for her strong US Isolationist views and strong anti-Nato alliance views. Why was General Flynn there? Stein's presence was publicized...while people discovered Flynn's attendance from the picture in the OP.

Third time now I see you posting this garbage. How about you present the whole picture of the gala instead of just cherry picking one person, because you give an impression that only Flynn was honored to meet Putin.

RT to mark its 10 year anniversary with international conference on media and politics

The conference, titled “Information, messages, politics: the shape-shifting powers of today’s world,” will explore a wide range of pressing international issues, including Middle East security, the state of today’s geopolitical balance of power, the battle of media narratives, Russia’s role on the world stage, tradeoffs between information privacy and security under a global terrorist threat, the evolution of the international news landscape over the past decade, and the role of media in addressing the challenges facing the world today.

Among the speakers and panelists will be Ken Livingstone, mayor of London during the 2005 terrorist attacks and recently appointed co-chair for the UK’s opposition defense review; Cyril Svoboda, former- deputy prime minister, minister of foreign affairs, and interior minister of the Czech Republic, who led the negotiations on Czech accession to the EU; Jill Stein, a US politician and the Green Party’s 2012 presidential candidate; Willy Wimmer, German statesman and ex-VP of the OSCE; Patricia Villegas, president of pan-Latin American news network teleSUR; Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, former head of the US Defense Intelligence Agency, the country’s main foreign military espionage organization; noted CIA whistleblower Raymond McGovern, and RT’s own editor in chief, Margarita Simonyan.

Eh, you really saying they didn't publicize any other names beside Jill Stein. Your credibility, zero. Flynn being there wasn't a secret or a surprise.

I never inferred Flynn was the only person at the gala for Putin's Propaganda outlet.
The pic I posted in the OP shows multiple people..Although Flynn landed a seat beside Putin for obvious reasons.

And I certainly never said it was an "honor to meet Putin"???

RT is indisputably State owned and indisputably Putin's propaganda outlet..

RT's editor in chief?

And yet, Simonyan does in fact keep a yellow telephone with no dial pad on her desk, which Simonyan conceded to a Time reporter last year is a secure line to the Kremlin.

www.politico.com...

Flynn has admitted to being on RT's payroll on a consulting contract..while simultaneously sitting in on intel briefings for Trump when he was a candidate.
