Mayan Calander Theory

Dont bug me about this, but my theory is that the guy writing the calander ended the record because of 1 of a couple reasons. first, the guy thought he should do something better with his life, second, the guy seeing into the future, died for some reason, or hit his head on a rock. there are others, but i want to leave it open to the ideas of ATS

He/She just got bored. Does anyone remember what caused the downfall of the Mayans?
