This is the full page ad in NY times??

refusefascism.org...

is a pdf..looking for the ad in the actual paper itself..

Don't know if this is helpful or not..

Breitbart

Rosie O’Donnell, Debra Messing, Ed Asner and Michael Shannon are among the dozens of artists, entertainers, and activists who have attached their names to an effort calling for a month-long protest to stop President-elect Donald Trump.

refusefascism website

Looks to be a spin headline..they signed their name in support of the fightfascism group..haven't found anywhere yet that they actually said they wanted to strike..maybe someone else who is better at research will be able to..

just wanted to keep it all in one post..so, I am adding as I find info..

Other Hollywood celebrities who have also joined the campaign, however, are calling for an all-out strike that would span the entire movie industry in the hopes that such a move would urge the President-elect to resign from his position as the newly elected President of the United States. “We’re calling for a general strike that would include every single person involved in making motion pictures in Hollywood, starting with the actors and celebrities themselves and encompassing companies in charge of making props, movie memorabilia and even souvenir shops,” a spokesperson for the Refuse Racism group told The New York Times.
more

So..it looks like this is said by the refusefascism group..not directly from the lips of any specific actor/actress..

I hope Adam Sandler goes on strike, seriously though who cares let them go on stike because there are plenty of under rated actors and actresses out there who never get a chance to hit the big screen.

As if the opinions of these self-abasing courtiers and prostitutes matter more than the opinion of the guys who clean their floors and drive them to "work" everyday. It would be so much more dignified for these people to keep their mouths shut, but then again most celebrities have no concept of it.

You know what's great about celebrities? Everything about them is magnified, all their shamlessness and snot blasted on a big screen for ordinary people to gawk at.

While this will never happen, it is a fairly significant threat. The motion picture industry in the US is responsible for bringing in billions of dollars a year. How will it make Trump look if that money starts going to India or China?

It already has. Most of Hollywood's box office is made in China.

"The Force Awakens was filmed basically in England, Ireland, Iceland and the United Arab Emirates."

If they're going on strike until Trump resigns...let's give him a third term.

When I first encountered Trump's anti-Streep stuff my first reaction was, 'I wish he'd just shut up." but this latest reaction from Hollywood shows me they deserve each other. Actors certainly are celebrities we are willing to pay to see, but they aren't particularly well-educated and there's no reason we need to listen to their political issues. We already now most of the are screaming liberals. But do you actually think they will "boycott" anything? You mean they;re going to stop working and stop collecting millions of dollars? It reminds me of a little kid who says if he doesn't get his way he's going to stop breathing.

i only watch movies i can legally watch for free. So other than the moral/ethical dilemma of giving my time to these people i do not support them at all.

Thanks. That helps. You're right, there isn't anything in the ad or on their website that says they are calling for all of Hollywood to strike. Sounds like it's just marching and protests.

They should join the "Million Woman March" or whatever it's now called, to protest Donald Trump's inauguration. It will be cold, the their $60,000 FUR COATS from bludgeoned baby animals should help.

I think this strike is just cover for the fact they ran out of material. Give the whole industry some time to re-up.

I mean who really wants to see ghostbuster kids or some other ridiculous remake?

Because conservatives celebrities don't do the same thing?

Rush Limbaugh promised to move to Costa Rica if the ACA passed:

"If this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented, I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica."

Still here unfortunately. Pretty sure O'Reilly said he'd move to Ireland if Sanders won, didn't he?

Just in! If this happens, Clint Eastwood has offered to write and direct a movie called "Forrest Trump" starring Stacy Dash, Antonio Saboto Jr, Scott Baio and a room full of other wooden actors — and by "wooden" I mean chairs.

If only they would withhold their wonderfulness from us for a bit. As a parent I'd welcome it. It would mean less filth that I have to keep my children from being exposed to, at least for a little while.

Hollywood and the rest of the media are still in denial about how integral they were in getting Trump elected. Let continue to deflect towards the real, but relatively minor impact Russia made on the US election. I know who has done more damage to the culture, and very soul of the American people over the past twenty years and it isn't Vlad.

People will just spend their entertainment dollars else where.

They'll probably just replace all the roles in every movie with Jar Jar Binks.
