Hi all,

Last night a thread on here reminded me of a group that I adore--Alash-- Siberian throat singers. If you have yet to hear throat singing, well, get ready for a treat! I find this music so pure and clean, which is very much like I picture the tundra of Siberia. Perfect.

I made this thread to share a few international (by this I suppose I mean non US or UK) songs by truly talented musicians.

Please take a few moments to listen to some great tunes.

I'd love to hear your favorite "international" musicians as well. I'm always excited to expand my rather myopic horizon! Thanks in advance ATS!

Alash. This one is so different than anything coming out of the west.

Another, this one really showcases the throat singing:

I had the pleasure of seeing them live. A truly mystical experience for me.

Now to shift gears, here's an amazing song from Belize I love:

And here is Cesaria Evora (RIP) with a sensual, sexy song:

Now one more gear shifting.. ready for some dope French rap? Thought so!

Hope to hear some of your favorites! Have a lovely night

Its unlike anything I have heard with the western meets eastern fusion. The videos also are intense...eye candy. All Wagakki Bands stuff is pretty amazing

Thanks Sal!

I'm listening to the choir right now. It's lovely. Also I really liked Jaime Cuadra, and can't wait to check out more of his music.
