Well, in 2013 your synthetic burger cost $325,000.00.

Then 2 years later in 2015 they got the cost down to about $11.36.....per burger or $80.00 for just over 2 pounds.

If they can keep getting the price lowered to where it cost the same or less than what the going rate for beef is per pound, then you'll have people who can actually afford it. But not until then (most people's food bills are high enough as it is).

However, there's still some problems:

1) Getting people to buy and eat it.

2) What about other cuts? Steak? Roasts? People will want something other than ground up looking beef to eat other dishes.

3) Other meats: Chicken, pork, fish, goat/lamb, etc. People will want those too, especially since all sorts of lunch meats are made from different parts of these: Salami, bologna, sausage, etc.

So you may get your wish as far as YOU and people like you wanting this, but it also may be a few more years, and then again, your choices on it will still be limited.

However: actual live stock for other meats will most likely still be there as long as there is a demand for it farmers, ranchers and companies that produce the real thing and make money from it will still provide it as long as there is enough demand for it.

Pal, I am 46 and despite living my life to the full I still achieved a couple of university degrees and a lovely family. And I won't change the way I live: I do live healthily, but life without certain pleasures is not worth living. So I will eat a steak, I will go to a rock concert and I will drink water from a stream.

Enjoy life, whichever way you like it and let others choose their own paths, without calling them names as you have too many times on this thread.

That's how most things work. Initial start up costs are usually high but over time production costs become lower. You see it with practically everything. Electronics are at it's highest price point when they initially release but over time becomes cheaper. Synthetic meat is expensive now because it's new but over time it's costs will go down.

I also think a new currency is necessary to solve much of our current debt crisis.

However, there's still some problems:

Look at my earlier posts. ANY meat can be created through stem cells. I posted a video of synthetic ground beef and synthetic shrimp. You can also make synthetic pork and other product. As long as the chemists can take the stem cells from a healthy specimen they can replicate more of them in a lab.

It doesn't sound pleasant but trust me it's safer to eat meat this way. Same thing with plant-protein. In a lot of cases you couldn't even tell the difference.

The video you posted is modifying pre-existing animals. My suggestion is making synthetic meat from animal stem cells.

The chemist does a byopsy on a healthy animal, takes the stem cells from it's tissue, then uses growth serum to replicate the cells into synthetic meat.

As long as the specimen is healthy this will make it virtually impossible to spread any further harmful prions. This also circumvents the infections commonly seen in the livestock food chain. There isn't any food chain because there isn't any further grazing from the livestock or livestock being consumed. Just synthetic meat made from healthy cells.

Science isn't always correct on things but absolute reality is absolute reality.

Science developed space shuttles, science developed the internet and computers that we are currently using, science developed vehicles, science builds homes, science made your clothes, science is used for water purification, science is in everything.

You can't think science is the big bad boogeyman when it has been the barrier from living in the stone ages to a much better quality of life. Science is only bad when it isn't applied correctly or has biases (which stems from the scientist, not physical reality).

If you hate science so much then don't use inventions that were created by them.
