There is a disturbing trend developing right now on ATS whereby people are wishing things like this on groups they do not like. This is how civil wars start - the escalation of difference to anger, then hatred, then words inciting violence then actual actions.

And when it boils over into actions nobody is safe. Just look at what blew up in Syria.....

I am well aware about the ISIS threat. I just choose not to believe every scare story, every lie, every hate spreading ATS post etc...

I am also well aware that the sun, the mail, the express and a few other newspapers published here are worthless, hate mongering, lying, xenophobic TRASH. This does not automatically mean that I believe ISIS are not a threat or misunderstood. Amazingly, there IS a middle ground in this complex topic.


I've lived in the UK for over 30 years. I have friends and family all over the Middle East. I am well aware of the threat of radical Islam thank you very much.

From what I understand, ISIS has a lot of resources (selling boatloads of Oil for one, hoards of fighters with hate in their heart for another) at their disposal. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

They will go somewhere sometime soon which is to simply dissapper into the ether because their use by date has experienced with the loss of Syria.

I now know why ISIS went through so many name changes which I thought odd early in the piece. They reason is, is so the illusion in the public consciousness that they have just appeared out of nowhere means their creation and existence it totally forgotten about.

My sister has been vacationing and visiting relatives over there since October of 2016. I just sent her an e-mail warning her of the possible attack on Italy. I warned her before she left that ISIS's grand target could be the Vatican since it's the symbol of Christianity. She's definitely concerned and is thinking about shortening her visit.

There has been ongoing warnings about Italy being attacked by ISIS. Better to be safe than sorry.

Israel supports a group on its borders that is anti ISIS, so there is a defensive barrier there. They can't get at Israel. Internally Israel raids terror homes every night in the west bank and arrests dozens planning attacks. In addition to which attacking Israel would bring on ISIS the worlds second biggest fleet of F16's which would devastate their ground forces.
Even ISIS aren't stupid enough to bring operation Cast Lead on themselves. ISIS would be annihilated.
