I watched a video of that scene those pictures are from, from a bystander holding a camera. The 2 people sat there while uniformed officers, and first responders completely ignored them until finally pulling a truck up. They then walked around very calmly, made no effort what so ever to help those 2 people let alone acknowledge them until a uniformed officer walked up and started talking to them. All of it was very surreal and not at all what I assume it would be like if there was in fact a person lying there shot surrounded by authorities.

Someone around the person filming was saying "why is no one helping them? What is going on?" The two people of whom at least one was bleeding didn't seem to be really doing anything to get anyones attention or call for any assistance either. Maybe they were screaming their heads off and somehow no one could hear it or see it but they seemed to just be kickin it on the curb bleeding.

I could be way off base, and the video was just being watched out of context and was in fact an incredible act of saving their life, but it really looked like ignoring them.

I will go back and try and find the liveleak link I watched it on, it was from this thread as it is the only one I have followed. I am referring to the video you just asked about before this post, not the video I am referring to in this post. That ended up being from a youtube rabbit hole I probably can't find again.

Is it possible this was an "active shooter drill" and that's why everyone was standing around? That it was coincidence it happened at same moment of airport massacre?

I live in Naples, and that fact very much intrigues me.

FWIW, even though it's further away than the local RSW airport, a lot of people in Naples fly into FLL. In fact, I regularly drive all the way to Orlando to pick up friends from the airport because flights can cost so much flying in locally vs Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, etc.


Here is another local Naples article stating investigators "descended" on an apartment and relatives of Santiago still live there:

There were live reports at the time of the shots fired also.
The conflict between what was heard in real time and the subsequent reporting, coupled with the very strange situation that this guy claimed he was being brainwashed by the govt with ISIS propaganda is troubling to say the least.

I was watching the live feed last night and they mentioned the same thing-- getting ready to detonate a package. This was right before our supper. Never heard anymore about that package after supper.

Interesting titbits that may or may not be related? Not sure of his time frame in Naples but FWIW?

1.The apartment he was supposedly living in Naples was involved in a shooting last year where the shooter was never charged or disclosed.

They look like the ones by the YMCA on pine ridge road which was known as Summerwind Apartments, but apparently renamed to Arium Gulfshore . I guess its good business to rename after a shooting in your complex which brings me to this interesting tibbit.

Last Year I recall a shooting coming from that apartment where a lady was shot in the leg and the shooter was never charged. The schools near the area were all on lockdown.

This whole thing has been a cluster# of epic proportions from the media. They just kept reporting stuff without confirmation, apparently not having learned anything from the OSU "shooting". They just don't bother to confirm or do any research. 4 hours after the attack they were still asking questions like how could he fly with a gun? It takes literally 4 seconds on google to find the TSA guidelines for flying with a firearm.

The people calling for more gun control are hilarious too trying to take advantage of this. Banning checking a gun as luggage would do nothing. Anyone can walk into an airport with a gun and walk over to baggage claim and start shooting. Even if you move the security zone back to the entrance of the airport, all you'd be doing is moving the potential victims from baggage claim to the entrance where they'd have to line up to go through security. And god forbid it take any longer to get through security than it does already. The pissing and moaning you hear now would be even worse when not just the passengers but everyone who is accompanying or picking them up has to get screened.

Now if you want to ask why he didn't just shoot up the Alaska terminal then, I don't know for sure but I can give you a theory. Florida law prohibits people from carrying a gun in the terminal. Alaska doesn't. I used to live in Alaska. A lot of people going into the airport to pick up friends/family who have just arrived are carrying a gun. If there's one thing we've seen time and time again from these incidents it's that these shooters are not looking for a firefight, they're looking for sitting ducks, people that won't be able to shoot back.

The big story here is the failure to get this guy proper mental health care. People asking why the government couldn't stop him, look to the bleeding hearts who made it "unfair" and "inhumane" to involuntarily commit anyone without a mountain of evidence and a court order. There's so much red tape before you can take someone off the street when they're displaying mental health issues. In the 70s this guy probably would've been taken away by the guys in white coats, but today it's all "but what about their freedom and their quality of life, it's not faaair". What's not fair is the people whose lives have been ended or destroyed over the years by people that should have been isolated from society to be treated. If they get better, let em out. Until then, we shouldn't be exposed to the danger. That doesn't mean EVERYONE who exhibits some kind of mental health issue should be put away, but a line needs to be drawn somewhere and obviously the current location of that line is too forgiving.

I would argue we are well passed The Running man CGI already and have been for a while. It is 100% possible to completely fabricate what ever they would like to fabricate to a very convincing degree. That is how we have most of our movies let alone a scene from Rogue One.
