Senior officials in the Russian government celebrated Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton as a geopolitical win for Moscow, according to U.S. officials who said that American intelligence agencies intercepted communications in the aftermath of the election in which Russian officials congratulated themselves on the outcome.

The ebullient reaction among high-ranking Russian officials — including some who U.S. officials believe had knowledge of the country’s cyber campaign to interfere in the U.S. election — contributed to the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment that Moscow’s efforts were aimed at least in part at helping Trump win the White House.

I know quite a few people here in Croatia celebrated...

I see nothing earth shattering about it...even if true.

Meanwhile, in reality, most of the world was embarrassed for the USA, and rightfully so.

What this story says to me is that a lot of people all over the world dislike Hillary as much as many americans do.

Despite all your continuing support, no it doesn't.

While in Saudi Arabia they were working late into the night shredding any evidence of their interactions with the CF. One of the few moments where up is up and down is down in politics.

A lot of people around the world celebrated. China made a good luck statue in honor of the win. Is it crazy to think people were happy about not immediately going to war with Russia after the election?

Hmm... anybody else find it highly suspect that 8 years ago we were hammered with "wonderful," "progressive," and "enlightened" news about how the world was rejoicing over the election of Barack Obama and here we are today, with the same news outlets hammering any international happiness over Trump's victory as being "bad?"

What a collective of nothings at Jeff Bezos' little newspaper outlet. What a staggering conflict of interest for them to be paid to analyse a president who the person paying them despises so deeply. What a sickening display of vapidity from WaPo.
