I'm not sure if what the witnesses experienced was alien technology, but the historical events that took place in 1561 Nuremberg have always intrigued me. Read more about the "Battle of Nuremberg": HERE

Around dawn on April 14, 1561, residents of Nuremberg saw what they described as an aerial battle, followed by the appearance of a large black triangular object and then a large crash outside of the city. According to witnesses, there were hundreds of spheres, cylinders and other odd-shaped objects that moved erratically overhead.[1][2][3][4][5] A broadsheet news article was printed later that month, describing the event. The broadsheet, illustrated with a woodcut engraving and text by Hans Glaser, measures 26.2 centimetres (10.3 in) by 38.0 centimetres (15.0 in). The document is archived in the prints and drawings collection at the Zentralbibliothek Zürich in Zurich, Switzerland.[6] The broadsheet describes objects of various shapes including crosses, globes, two lunar crescents, a black spear and tubular objects from which several smaller, round objects emerged and darted around the sky at dawn.

I went to the link under "UFO sightings by astronauts" and read the first paragraph:

One of the original Mercury Astronauts and the last American to fly in space alone. On May 15, 1963 he shot into space in a Mercury capsule for a 22 orbit journey around the world. During the final orbit, Major Gordon Cooper told the tracking station at Muchea (near Perth Australia) that he could see a glowing, greenish object ahead of him quickly approaching his capsule. The UFO was real and solid, because it was picked up by Muchea's tracking radar. Cooper's sighting was reported by the National Broadcast Company, which was covering the flight step by step; but when Cooper landed, reporters were told that they would not be allowed to question him about the UFO sighting.

... and since even Cooper himself denounced this story as a hoax, I figured it could only get worse, so I quit reading.

And thus kept your brain firmly within its casing.
Better than letting it fall out.
I think.

Obvious fake is obvious. As has already been stated, thowe symbols wouldn't even make sense, given how the language works, and the two "aliens" are copy/paste jobs for cryin' out loud. Does anyone do even the most basic research into something before blindly believing it any more?

The tower buildings in this woodcut are still standing. If you use Google Earth, with 3D buildings enabled, you can get a ballpark aspect of this structure with the related scenery, and then step back.

Try flying Google Earth around this site, and you can see the approximate area where the explosions are in the picture as well. Fairly interesting, to say the least.

No, it ain't obvious. That's just empty speculation from someone who's desperate to discredit alleged, ancient depictions of aliens. Hieroglyphics made use of objects seen from daily life. Perhaps flying discs and aliens were more commonly seen in ancient Egypt than you are willing to accept, in which case their appearance in hieroglyphics would not be out of place but would have meant something to people then. I could ask the same type of question concerning why no sceptic does any research in order to support his blind disbelief but, instead is content, mindlessly, to shout "hoax" whenever he encounters something that his rigid belief system cannot accept?

Don't just deny ignorance. How about denying prejudice as well? If you don't believe something is true, PROVE IT.

That's a very nice target you've painted on your forehead, I'll just step back and let somebody else take the fish-in-a-barrel kill shot.

Out of curiosity, did you determine where the original image of the hieroglyphs came from, so we can all look it up?

My assertion that the 'Apollo-16 UFO disk image" was a hoax showing a piece of the spacecraft itself is proven here: www.nbcnews.com...

Do you demand that somebody PROVE the Mercury-9 space UFO encounter is a hoax, when the guy who was there -- astronaut Cooper, a well-known UFO believer -- still maintained it was a total media fabrication? Is that the kind of disproof you were demanding?

Just asking....

No, it ain't obvious.

It's obvious when you look at it carefully, specially with an image that doesn't have those lines drawn over it, like the one below.

You can see that there is a vein in the rock that goes from top to bottom, near the centre of the image, but doesn't appear in the "aliens' area". It doesn't appear because it was too much trouble to add the vein in a convincing way, so the people that changed the image just ignored it.

Then why we can see flying (an assumption from you) discs only on that image? Where are all the other occasions in which they used that symbol in their writing?

Here you go, this is the original photo, right there on Wikimedia, where anyone (you included) could have found it.

Reverse image search with TinEye is a good way to find the originals used to hoax images.

The astronaut 'sightings' are either out of context quotes (like Cernan's) or complete fabrications, like the Apollo 11 'transmission' and the alleged quote by Carpenter (see James Oberg's document here www.jamesoberg.com...).

The photo illustrating it actually shows the EVA light on the Command Module.

One down, nine to go.

Little too much hand waving unless this is just the opening thread for a long series of threads.

However the pilot sightings and ufos seen around the world part already has already been covered here

Some of my favorites
Levelland 57 - Several motorist encounter a glowing sphere that stops their motor, police try to locate the object and also see it.
New Guinea 58 - Father Gill and others wave at the aliens
Westall 66. Daylight sighting of a drone like craft that levitates up on a school campus.
Ravenna 66 - Several police chase ufo through 2 states
Minot AFB B-52 incident 68 - radar confirmation case
Colares 1977 - UFOs burning residents
Tehran 1977 - UFO engaged by Iranian F-4s.
Eupen 89,90 - (start in at 2:20min) start of the Belgium wave

for the record, I believe in ET, and that we are being visited by some form of life. I just watched the Mars Anomaly video and there is literally nothing there but rocks. Highlighting areas does nothing but force images into head, no different from seeing clouds change into something, our brains are made to recognize and create patterns. Also, the Egyptian article, a lot of the images are simply not real; especially the last one.

So now we're counting vaguely geometric shapes and crap photos as "strong signs?"

If these are the "strongest signs," then there just ain't any aliens at all. None at all.

Creating interesting content is hard, that's why I don't make threads.
