An idea I've always toyed with is that they are us once we've transitioned into the machine age.

By machine age I mean the time we can see much more than we can now, we'll never see other spectrums first hand. It's impossible with our brains, we'd have to evolve drastically. The ultimate way is to simply "upload" into machines, then we can be all, see all and be everywhere we are uploaded at once.

Imagine one metahuman commanding as much creation as it literally wants to, forever growing into whatever it deems necessary.

The most depressing yet liberating experience we'll ever have.

For the human is gone, the mysticism associated with foreseeing will be gone. We/they will know exactly why the mutual attraction that is love exists, they'll see it. Happiness isn't happiness but it's a series of events that bodes well for the experiencee. Something that can be calculated.

Who wants to live forever, when forever means not living at all.

Maybe all these lights are us, visiting back and having a good old gander at the things we missed... Lost.

However I wont rule out that ET exists but Aliens are just so easy to understand by the masses. The whole modus operandi of UFO's however suggest that they have their base on earth or somewhere near it. If one Adds the disappearance of 10000th of people worldwide (David Paulides) per year and the fact that building megalithic structures is near to impossible with primitive tools. Solving the mystery of UFOS might be as simple as that there is and always was another civilization (human or not) on/in earth that is way more (technically )advanced that us humans.... However as it is right now most ufologist are so smitten with the idea that they disregard this in my view more plausible theory....

We planned and went to the moon and other planets by lander, not by impactor. Too much heat and G force during ablation and impact, imo. We've visited and explored other worlds, why wouldn't 'they'?

I completely agree with if we have explored other worlds, why wouldn't any being out there be doing the same thing. So many unknowns. There were unknowns before it was decided the Earth wasn't flat or no one would ever walk on the moon. We are just limited by our own minds, creativity and limited knowledge. I'm sure we have been visited on multiple occasions. Even before the net was around, people all over the world were describing space crafts. People were being "taken" and even disappearing into thin air in front of their families. I'm not about to point a finger at those people, either and label them as crazy or liars. Too much of that in the world, already. What happened to open minds, thinking outside the box of our own short lives? Maybe some beings live a lot longer than we do. Maybe, some don't and are stuck where we are. You have those beautiful brained scientists and visionaries who get close to completing some equation they have worked on all their life and pass away before it's completed. They never found anyone with the understanding of their task, to pass it on to. It sits on the shelf for years and years, then someone discovers it and continues on with it. I love that those possibilities are endless. In my world...nothing is impossible.

You might be interested in this. Dr. Edgar Mitchell Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial Encounters, or (FREE) if you like acronyms. It was a very lengthy questionnaire. It went beyond the scope of just seeing a UFO or abductions, sightings of orbs, etc. It studied those who have had paranormal phenomenon happen to them. Things moving around on their own, sightings of things perceived to be spirits, near death experiences, loss or addition of time, blood type, clairvoyance and other such phenomena. Then, they put the data together and gave percentages of how many witnessed these types of things in their life. They believer there to be correlation between what we consider the spirit world and other worldly beings.

If anyone is interested, I can post those numbers they have so far. I did their questionnaire.

I believe that is possible. Even some people of the human race have a huge interest in cloning. Maybe they found this planet a very long time ago and became stranded or just chose to stay, created us or evolved into what we are now. In such a short time of humans being around, we have discovered so many things and continue to do so. I'd say that makes us a pretty young race of beings. It would be amazing to live to see the future possibilities we will discover or the things that will be invented. Maybe then, when we are ready, we will find the truth of our existence. Probably not within my own life time, which makes me rather sad. I want to know about everything in life. Call me...a knowledge sponge. hehe.

What I implied is 'the next level' of physical phenomena. Real crafts that can shoot down jets so to speak and appear on radar. Crafts guided by 'Aliens' that have a home a family and go to work some were on this planet and are member of an unknown more advanced civilization on this earth.

I think at least a temporary base is probable, they would need somewhere to go back and forth from while here, the smaller craft, probes, whatever, don't seem capable of interstellar travel. Kind of like we have aircraft and carriers sort of thing. I also got to figure they are close by on another moon or planet, too. Forward bases to monitor and 'adjust' their garden Earth.

Man has explored the world this way for millennium, expeditions, forward bases, bivouacs, supply lines, etc.

That becomes even more necessary considering the vast interstellar reaches of space.

As far as 'spiritual aspects', discounting the tall tales from posterity for a minute, reports of craft 'jumping', dematerializing, impossible maneuvers, lends to some kind of inter dimensional (if you will) capability, like 'spirits'.

I think that the reason they would visit here is because of the exceedingly rare occurrence of Earth-like worlds.

And if they are coming from a distance star system, then they have FTL "travel" capability and could therefore just as easily be coming from another galaxy as from within our own galaxy.

IMO, thats what our own space agencies are looking for, they even admit they are searching for 'life'. Well known, the rest of the solar system is inhospitable.
