Ah one of the lurkers eh? Well, glad you are still around. You are missed when you aren't here. There are many missing people. I should send out the dragon search party.

BigG reporting in....

I had a nice weekend down at the Island...
A couple of quiet drinks in front of the TV on Fri night and then made dinner for our friends on Sat.
Pot Roast Lamb with Roast Honeyed Parsnips, Roast Honeyed Carrots, and a Herby Red Pepper, Red Onion and Mixed Tomatoes Medley served with Mixed Rice & Grains (Mediterranean Style), followed by Chrissie's home-made Strawberry Baked Cheesecake.... and then... a Syrup Sponge Pudding!! What??? Of course you can have two puddings!! It was... The Weekend!!
My Island pals have also got me drinking Gin! which I used to hate... until I discovered that it wasn't the Gin I hated... It was the "Tonic" mixer that they all put in it! (We had a choice of FOUR different varieties of Gin on Saturday... A Bombay Sapphire, a Plum & Vanilla (Yuk!), a Rhubarb & Ginger (Yum!) and a "Gordon's Castle" brand which was OK but a bit dry.)

Now it's a cold grey damp miserable Monday morning here in Scotland, and I'm supposed to be working.... but I need more coffee first. I will say this about the Gin.... it doesn't seem to give me the hangover that I deserved! I earned that hangover damnit! but it never arrived..... weird!

How is everyone else?
(I'm still smiling at the idea of Troll's song!! Brilliant!)

I loved Tom's story and vid!!!!!!! Amazing!

Now...where's our Valentine vid? Are you or Tom or you and Tom working on something? Because you know, we are expecting a nice surprise right? Oh and don't forget the flowers and chocolates for the party.

I haven't been to bed yet. OMG! No wonder I sleep the days away. Have to go off to dreamland. I'm sure our early risers will be in to hang out with you soon.

Hi hunny! I woke up at 4:30 with a head so plugged up I couldn't breathe. Took some meds, made a coffee and figured if I had to sit upright I might as well open the computer, lol.

I'm playing around with a possible new thread, that's why I'm researching the Free Trade Agreement. It's a bit intense for an early morning read though, so I'm glad you popped in.

How's the world been treating you lately? Everything good?

I know...what was I thinking, lol?

I just keep seeing Pres. Trump's "Make America Great Again" speeches, and not that I believe him until he 'walks the walk' after 'talking the talk'....just thought it would be nice if somebody wanted to make Canada great again too.

So I thought I'd start with the FTA and how we lost all our factories (and jobs) around here.

I really don't voice my opinion about politics around here, but it's been really interesting lurking for the last year. I've read some pretty heated "opinion based comments" regarding both sides of the presidential election from members here that I follow.

Its tragic what has happened to both countries. I watched a documentary about Detroit recently...run down empty houses....looks almost post-apocalyptic in many places. Truly sad, I remember when Detroit was thriving.

It's lousy to be at an age when you can remember better times, especially if you have kids who are now working constantly to keep a roof over their heads and food.

I actually thought it was a fantasy land, like Middle Earth, until I saw a program recently about where my syrup comes from.

Yeah, I'm actually getting more frustrated now then during the election. The US is so polarized right now. It doesn't even resemble a country anymore. I just wish we could pretend to like each other at least, LOL.
