After tomorrow this will all finally be over - thank god

After wading through and participating in many threads related to the 2016 election and the aftermath of same, I can honestly say that I cannot wait for the electoral college to meet tomorrow, cast their ballots and finally end this nightmare.

I am *so* sick of all the partisan bickering on all sides.

I'm new here, have been working on a cancer thread, I've 4 UFO sightings in my life to discuss, a bigfoot story from my Dad and I just love digging into a conspiracy.

I can't get out of a political thread this year though... it's like alcoholism or something.

I think I'm going to try a 12-step program for political focus after the electoral vote.

Anyways, my thoughts as well and hope that it bubbles up into the ATS consciousness...

It's not over until January 6 when Congress counts and certifies the electoral votes, and January 20, when the next President is inaugurated.

I am beginning to have serious concerns if that person is not Donald Trump. I may not have voted for him, but if he is not inaugurated, then I am very, very worried about what might happen.

It's over when his term(s) are over. Before then you'll hear quite an amount about him and his supporters.

Well, not to be that guy but...

The Governor of each state must certify the EC vote of their state, affix the seal and sign it. If not, those votes automatically are in question.

And then on Jan 6 or 7 a joint session of House and Senate go over the 50 results as certified by the governors any of which can be called into question by a Representative and a Senator concurring something is hinky.
At which point the House and Senate separate to discuss the issue. If no resolution if found then those votes are thrown out and the Magic Number is adjusted from 270.

So plenty of opportunity to continue mucking up the works to be had.

I've yet to see any evidence that this election should be overturned. So I will support the outcome, even if I did not vote for Trump. And I won't fault anyone for taking action to protect us from tyranny if electors violate the laws of their states and cause this election to be overturned.

That is where I am with it, ATM.

Are you kidding? We still have the rioting on inauguration day, and the never-ending perpetual occupation of the White House from then on.

I didn't vote for him either. However, he's not a Progressive. That gives me hope. The election being overturned just won't work. Honestly. And it won't be 60,000,000 armed protesters in the streets if it does happen that will change everything.

It will be the actual conservatives and liberals folding up shop, going black market and stop feeding the beast. It will be people from both sides actively participating in giving as less as possible, taking as much as possible, to try from the other side to do what Progressives have been trying to do for generations... to kill the system and take over.

In the end, it will end as it always does... the productive members of society build a new thing out of the ashes.

Not that it matters a whit, but I am not a Trump fan, but I felt that he was a far better choice than HRC and offers the best chance for change from the status quo, which sucked quite frankly. So I hope for the best, and wish him great success in those endeavors.

But your response tells me all I need to know about your critical thinking skills and open mindedness. Also, I guess actually doing something to make this country a better place for all to live is also not something you'd even consider. Far better to just sit on your butt and criticize others, right?

As for me, I shall simply skip all of your posts in the future as they will also probably be as emotionally vs factually driven as is this one.
