Michael Ross convicted killer was supposed to be executed Weds. morning but a judge stayed the execution because he ordered a mental exam.

(CBS) Convicted rapist and serial killer Michael Ross is sitting on Connecticut's death row.

If Ross had his way, he would have died Wednesday morning, making him the first person to be executed in Connecticut in 45 years. But with only 36 hours to spare, a judge stayed the execution.

www.cbsnews.com...

Why should any judge stop a convicted killer and rapist from being put to death, especially when the killer himself has requested no more appeals, and wants to die.

Massive amounts of money are spent in the court systems current system of appeal after appeal all at taxpayer expense. Now they are spending more because a judge does not feel the killer is mentally competent. It is sad when the killer is the only one using good judgement.

Well i have to think the other way on this, I am glad that this man is not getting what he wants, By prolonging his death and causing him more stress, Death is the easy way out for this guy. He will now suffer thinking when will that day come,

Just my opinion.

I would have a chat to my karmic layer first before wishing people like this ill.

It makes you just as nice, cuddly and friendly as he is.

Asala, He was tried , convicted and sentenced to death, why should tax payers have to pay for this man to rot in jail, when the court already decided his fate?Who cares what he wants. as far as I am concerned he lost any rights he had the moment he committed his first murder.

I'm with Asala on this one....

Keep him alive, he needs to deal with what he did. He needs to think about it every minute of every day....

Now, I also sort of agree that, why should we have to pay for him to be alive... so what are you going to do .... its a never ending cycle...

Its harsh yes but so was his treatment of these women that he hurt, there lifes are over, they cant come back there familys will suffer for the rest of there lifes due to this man, he took a life so he should have to suffer his life,

Some say well he can change??

the women he killed wont ever have that chance to live,

Sorry about my view on this but i have been an unfortunate family member of a murder victim., so my forgiveness of such people is very thin.

(EDit ..Tax payers yes i agree why should you have to pay. never ending cycle, )

Not forgiving is one thing, actively wishing ill on someone is another.

Belive me if you have been a family member of someone who was murdered then you would wish ill on the person who killed them,

I absolutely agree!

Why should a single tax dollar go to this scumbag, when it could go to buying a textbook for a school? I think that this monster, as well as those like him should be euthanized immediately.

I've made my point of view on the ridiculous amounts of money being spent to wage the war, it's now approx 300 billion dollars, on many threads. However the point of this thread is about killers.
Yes to answer your question, I do worry about keeping scum like this guy alive. I worry about it ALOT.
I work 60+ hours a week, and my family get's by, but there is very little gravy money left over. We do not enjoy frills.
Our system pays for scumbag killers, rapists etc to have cable tv, college educations, workout facilities, 3 square meals a day. I wish I was able to afford these things for my family.
Yeah YOU BET I'm worried about keeping him, and all like him alive.
Spend 15 cents a piece on a couple rounds, and take care of it.

The individual acted in a way that was a burden to society and continued to be a burden to society afterwards because it is we who are paying to keep him alive against even his will. The laws are put in place for a reason and it is not for revenge as some seem to believe. End the burden or change the laws.

Hey amb1063 - you're starting to scare me, this is more than once that I agree with you this week!
Come to the light.....come to the light.

Seriously though what on earth was the judge thinking? Is there more to the story about the track record of this judge?
Let me tell you - if I were Czar for a day - prison overpopulation would no longer be a problem....

it is getting scary SUPER D!!!! i'm pretty much with you all the time except for the unfortunate incident in which you thought that the mentally ill should be exterminated
but it was all in good spirited debating.

if someone makes it to death row............confesses.............AND the evidence backs the legal system's verdict.............then TOAST EM is my thinking. i don't believe in free passes off death row..........unless wrongfully convicted and the evidence proves THAT.

but that's me.

Whoa there, make sure you keep that one in context!
(And for the record I still think that woman should be executed!)
Oh well, let's see how much money the court system eats up on this waste of skin.

My point being if the country still had that 300 bil to thow around i dont think you'd be complaining about this guy being alive or not.

I am totaly opposed to the death penalty. Not on any moral conviction. Rather, I think its to easy a way out. It gives the killer time to gain sympathy from wackos. I say let em die slowly. Let them spend every day thinking about what they did.

Now this guy wants to die? I bet he does. Oh well. I say throw em in general population. He'll die there. Probably not nice and clean, as the state would have, but he'll die none-the-less.

The crap about saving money is just that, crap. Even if they killed every single person on death row, it wont a single dollar more in your pocket. Let em rot nice and slow....
