Secondly, there are MANY people who hold views that oppose the direction that the EPA ...are heading, and would like to see some of the policies and directives halted and possibly reversed (basically, reducing the heavy hand of central government).

Hurrah

"Not kept up with the cost of living" is a different way of saying, "The dollar is rotting slowly and is a shadow of what it was when todays retiree's first starting saving for retirement".

The general cost of living increases independent of that. Electricity becomes more available, so does cable, internet and water infrastructures, everyone has smartphones now, having a car is a necessity not a convenience to many, insurance became mandatory.

Ignoring the dollar, there are many ways the definition of what it means to be "living" changes.

- is this pick an obvious attack on the minimum wage?
- is maintaining a low, or removing entirely, minimum wage seem in line with Trumps business interests?

I dunno.

Just seems to me he's picking mostly corporate Sharks.

He's building a 1 percenter Dynasty.

I have to admit, Carl's Jr. is my favorite fast food hamburger.

I eat my hamburgers plain. MCD is so salty it's un-edible. Burger King is passable. But, Carl's Jr. has the best plain burger.

We had that the last 8 years, with the exception being that they didn't have relevant experience.

They do - and Culvers is also fantastic. Culvers doesn't have the electrolytes, though.

Call me a crazy conspiracy theorist but....

Trump putting all these corporate ceo's into positions of authority everywhere is not going to be for the benefit of the little people, it's going to be for the benefit of corporate interests.

There are plenty of intelligent, highly educated, non-politically linked, non-financial establishment associated people in the US that would be more than capable of filling these positions... So why is he choosing to go with all these politically linked corporate associates instead ?

Things that make you go "hmmmm".

Because if he hires qualified people with integrity they will not do what he says, and he knows it. He can't appoint anyone who is smarter than himself or his cronies. Then again -- we still have 10 days for this to come unzipped. Electoral votes needed to topple him? only 37. That's all.

Yes, but it has nothing to do with the topic. And like many 1% percenters, I understand how many of the government departments and alphabet agencies screw up the job market and make it harder for companies to hire people.

Far too many of the people that get hired in these positions have never actually had to run a company. They've never made payroll. They've never risked their own money starting a business. They simply don't know how the real world works. While this guy may be the CEO of Carl's Jr, he is running a company where many of the restaurant owners are small businesses. I'm sure he hears every day from franchisees how government is making it hard.

ACA, by itself, has created more work for me than anything else the government has done. Since Sarbanes-Oxley, anyway.

I work in finance. Dodd-Frank and the CFPB have been a nightmare. The sad part is that most consumers really have no idea how much extra they are paying as a result because they don't see it. The increased costs are baked into higher rates on mortgages, credit cards, etc.

If you look at who he is appointing, his intention appears to be the dismantling of government. His own little coup.
