I was scouring images and something jumped right out at Me from the Image of Rocknest.
The item mentioned is about center from left to right, and a third of the way up from the bottom.

Image is PIA16453_sol64_from_Rocknest_WB-full.

Link below. ATS won't let Me upload the full image. Too large?
www.jpl.nasa.gov...

Then here is the item cropped and circled.

What do Ya's think? Animal? Rock? Looks like a horses head to Me... Maybe light and shadow playing tricks? I do see a dark rock under the jaw of the 'animal' and one above it's forehead, but that's not what I included in My assessment...

Took a look at the picture. The only way that would be possible is if the life form's skull was shape was exactly like that when it died correct? Not sure how decomposition would occur on Mars is it were to happen, so I can't say for sure.

Honestly, it just looks like rocks, shadow, and light.

I can see the resemblence of the object in question to a cow or a goat. I am pretty sure that is just a rock.

Ok Thanx for Your input. I also thought it was very well light and shadow play... For the head to be intact, and the rest rotted did seem odd. But odd is the name of the game with a lot of stuff from the rover, in My book... Thank You again!

I wish it weren't just a rock.

Actually, I wish ALL the "strange" photos we've seen were ALL not just rocks. How amazing would it be if the rocks that looked like ancient building foundations were ancient building foundations? How spectacular would it be if the rocks that looked like bones were all bones?

I also wish the Lock Ness Monster was real.

I can still daydream though.

I know right? However there are some that are not in no way rocks. When metal gleams in the sunlight, (other anomalies), I don't think that is a rock. But I have been wrong before. No not just once as many would say! LOL!! But many times been wrong. I have no problem admittiing to that fault. I am afterall, only Human...(Well I can shapeshift into a Dragon, but that's for another Thread!)

Thank You!

I took a closer look using the gigapan and you can really get in close.
I see the areas you point out as being of a possible animal.
Unfortunately It seems this may be just a rock.
It's good to know that you look through these images and try to find
things out of the ordinary.

Excuse me but the Loch Ness Monster is real....

I can see why you might think it looked like an animal skull but the composition looks more like stone than bone to be honest.

Thanx for looking into it deeper! Also, to the direct left of the 'head, is odd looking stuff on the ground? All that just looks strange, does it not? Is a little different colored as well...

I agree about Nessie! Why not right? There are probably many ares on this planet that could sustain 'prehistoric' beasts!!

And Yah. The head probably just stone, not bone... Alas....

Rocks of course, but...

mars.jpl.nasa.gov...

Lower-center left of image, zoom in you will find what really does look like fossilized remains including vertebrae...

I will and do keep looking! Ya never know. One day someone here will hit it right! I think they already have, (Arken comes to mind first!), but the naysayers here seem to way outnumber the finders and believers of anomalies... But I will not give up. Never ever!!! Too many odd things in the images We see from 'Mars'. If they are even from there? I dunno and probably never will know for sure...
