But to be fair, whites really did start it when they began the the Intellectual Property system. Apparently that has been followed up and advanced by that creative black lady. Patents expire after 50 years, but race rights never expire under cultural IP under her system. So, blacks can keep their right to their hair styles, but they cannot use any electronics under cultural IP, pretty much only asians get to use electronics but whites can too if they are urban enough. I have written permission from a white city boy to use a computer to write this message. The white guy in the video needed written permission from a black person and didn't present that to her. So clearly, the only thing that happened in the video that was wrong was when the white violator hit the black lady. That was the only problem. He should be suspended for a week from school for that.

She didn't like him having a black hair style?
That's her culture not his?
Hmmm.

Wasn't she dressed in white style clothing?
I'll bet she enjoys all the comforts white culture provides.
Medicines,
Colleges,
Starbucks,,,

This is to deep for a Saturday morning.

If one race is allowed to use a word and other races arent isnt that racist?

A word is either OK or it isnt, what colour skin you have should be irrelevant

Yeah I can agree with where you're coming from with Trudell. He speaks some good sense in the opening minutes.

It's like we can't have the good things of this modern world without paying for them in blood and tears. We get oil, but we get pollution. We get internet and free stuff, but we lose our privacy. We get news of the world, but mainly the negative news. One nation lives well whilst its neighbour is dirt poor.

The more of us there are; the more conflict and mistrust is introduced to the system.

Who said you cannot use that word?

Seriously?

Ive been told by 3 Black Americans I cant even use it when singing along to Snoop or Tupac.
I was dating an African American for awhile in Malaysia and after 3 months she said I was allowed to use it when singing but under no other circumstances, not even when quoting movies.

Ask a black person if its OK to say that word and if theyre a friend you will most likely hear the response "No thats our word", if theyre not a friend I imagine it wont end well haha

She grabbed him by the arm to hold him from leaving to finish the conversation, that was not physical assault. I guess people now have created a reality that if far from sane. The hairstyle they are arguing about, it is not patented. Anyone can wear it if they want. I personally do not know why anyone would want to wear it, but then again I do not understand why some people would want to cover their bodies with tatoos, die their hair pink or purple, or fill there body full of holes with jewelry hanging out of them.

I think this whole new whole society is kind of nuts, interesting but still nuts. I am not discriminating and saying one group is nuts and one is sane, I am saying the whole thing has gone crazy. Maybe there are about ten percent who aren't nuts but those ten percent are considered nuts by society because consensus of the time has changed.

Sorry, did those three people pass a law that I missed that says you cannot use that word?

Not my fault you let her tell you what to do.

So? There is still no legal roadblock preventing you from exercising free speech. The point I am making is that you said you are not allowed to say it, you are, you just choose not to.

I can agree with most of your post, in essence people really need to chill the hell out.

But if he had grabbed her in an effort keep her talking, that would be considered assault.
Things in our supposed equal society are not equal.

It was more...
It was about the necessity of Thinking versus Believing. About not cooperating with accepting being used and railroaded
into the divisions of word and thought.

The kids in the video are only parroting the "indoctrination" if you will, of "Us and Them".
Ignoring that we are all human beings.

In Etymology words come and go. Meanings change. Investing yourself into a few letters is self limiting and circumvents critical thought. For example here on ATS it's easy to pick up new words because of the diverse global membership. The last one I stumbled across was "Chav". So I googled. Oh yippeeee.

Another "label"
and not a nice one. The crap never ends and won't change until we change.

Damage or not, using touch to stop someone from leaving is a definition of assault.

Assault: make a physical attack on; a concerted attempt to do something demanding.

The fact that people here are discussing a word and calling it the N-word instead of the word Nigger makes me wonder if everyone has become fearful. Sure the word was misused, but many were.

Here, for those who do not remember what the word is anymore. www.merriam-webster.com...'n-word'

It is still in the dictionary. It is still a word. I wouldn't be calling a person this name because it is a little offensive but people can't even say the word anymore in a conversation about the word. That sounds too strange to be true.

Edit, you have to type the word 'n-word' into the link instead of the n-word at the end, the site won't let it be written there in a link. Weird that it changed it to N-word.

sure you can say it but you have to accept the fact that you will sound stupid saying it. there are actions and consequences to those actions. the choice is yours.

So, if someone is going to walk into the path of a car and you grab them by the arm, you can be charged with assault? What if your trying to stop someone from jumping off a building, you can't stop them by grabbing them? You can't pull your kid away from grabbing a sharp object or from touching something he shouldn't because you are assaulting them?

2 reasons for not using it.

1, its against ATS's T&C as the word is largely considered racist.

2, its impolite. Although I couldn't give a flying barrel of monkey's about offending someone, I am at least polite enough to recognise the offence.

I limit the word to artists context.

Not that I am aware of. I have used it on this site before, however I think the context is very important.

Apologies, I didnt realise you meant legally.

Yeah theres no law that says I cant say it, just like theres no law that says I cant make a life sized Mohammed statue out of bacon and go bugger it on a street corner but there are whole sections of society who would frown upon it greatly

I could be wrong.

Would be surprised if it wasn't.

I'll have a scan.
