Hmm.

In a case where it was say, an ordinary traffic stop that escalated and led to the perpetrator pulling a knife on an officer armed with lethal firearms, I may agree with you.

But this is America, where we have the biggest school shooting epidemic in the world. Granted this wasn't a school shooting, I cannot find it in me to fault the officers (who were employed by the school) for neutralizing the threat.

It would have been great to take him in alive so that he could be profiled and studied for the sake of prevention. But I am not personally upset by his loss of life in this circumstance.

Just my two cents.

Gun against knife... yeah. Real "HERO" there.

You forgot to add /sarcasm to the end of your post. At least, I hope.

Don't know what the "sarcasm" emoji looks like. But I'm sick of police always shooting to kill, even when their life is not in danger. Maybe if the officer was in a wheelchair, the knife-wielder could have hurt/killed him. But shooting to kill, when it's not necessary, is cowardly... IMO of course.

Apparently you think a knife is not dangerous to human life when wielded with intent.

You really have no idea what you're talking about. At least get some facts on knife attacks before having an opinion on that matter.

And besides,

Those police officers didn't know that all he had was a knife. How could they?

If the perpetrator was using a machete to attack innocent students, and the police responded to the call and asked him to drop his weapon and he doesn't comply, to me that stands as a reason to neutralize him.

Methinks this guy went into this situation knowing it would end in his death, as do ALL martyrs for the Islamic State.

Where can I go to find knife attack facts? Cops shoot TO KILL (or try to) in almost every situation. Very cowardly.. regardless of "knife facts".

No they don't. That's just your uninformed opinion on that matter.

Let me know when you've looked up what real knife attacks look like, how fast they can happen, and how deadly they can be.

Until then your cute little opinion on the matter is just childish BS from someone who doesn't understand life and death situations.

There are so many variables, that in any given situation, what we say can be nothing more than OPINION. My OPINION is that police often use deadly force, when deadly force is not needed. To me, the reason they do this is either COWARDNESS or SADISM or HATE.

Except those of us with engagements can tell you otherwise and I'm asking you to deny ignorance here. Your opinion is nothing more than uninformed excuses for you to cast aspersions on people based on situations you know absolutely nothing about.

Then you say this:

To me, the reason they do this is either COWARDNESS or SADISM or HATE.

Again, you speak from ignorance. You don't have the knowledge or experience to make these determinations, and you've never had to defend your life from a deadly threat. If its between me and knife wielding attacker, I'm killing that dude with the best tool I have available to me.

Your opinion on how one should defend their very life, based on nothing more than emotional hysterics, is not a good enough reason for one to forfeit their life.

Just once I wish all of you "Shoot em in the leg", "using a gun to defend from a knife is cowardice" types would actually go and study these incidents with a dispassionate approach. Learn all the different moving parts that go into these engagements, I promise you will not have the same "opinion".

Since you're so passionate about this subject, I'll let it rest. But my mind will never forget the sight of a police officer chasing an older man across a field, firing 4 or 5 shots at him, until finally shooting the poor bastard in the back.

Or any of the other heinous acts of abuse that modern day technology has allowed the masses to actually see with our eyes, and not just hear of "stories" of abuse.

Time and time again do we see reports of attacks on police that set a new precedent for standard procedure.

Take for example the Dallas Police shootings earlier this summer. You can bet that every police officer in the country was on high alert following that shooting, and for good reason.

Every protocol that you can conjure up to protect citizens from excessive police force is undermined when there is an attack carried out on police that circumvents that protocol.

Does that make sense? Seriously, if it doesn't I can elaborate.

If you disagree with the lethal force by the officer, then at least condemn the attacker before you go condemning the police. That's all I ask.

Translation: I don't want my preconceived notions challenged by real world facts. I just wanna hate an entire group of people even when they shoot a guy in the process of killing others.

The film maker can be outraged all by his lonesome. The suspect attacked and sent 9 people to the Hospital with injuries. I dont care if the officer is white, black, hispanic, asian or martian. His quick response and action saved lives. I dont care if the suspect is arab, latin, white, black, asian or alpha centaurian. He attempted to kill 9 people with a knife.

The officer ordered the guy to drop the knife and he refused. He then turned his attention on the officer.

The film maker can # off.

I'm going to go look up what kind of 'films' this guy makes, now.

edit: Oh good lord, have a look at this guy's IMDB page.

He has a documentary series of films called Hidden Colors. Titles include:

Hidden Colors 2: The Triumph of Melanin
Hidden Colors 3: The Rules of Racism
&
Hidden Colors 4: The Religion of White Supremacy

Seems like this guy is a one trick pony, another wanna-be film maker who is confined to a prison of his own belief. Like literally all of his films are race related. He cannot think out of the box, and other entertainers in the industry have given him a platform to project his racism.

I challenge anyone who is thinking that this "white cop" had another option than shooting a "machete wielding attacker" to let me come at them, full force, wielding a machete and take whatever action they deem necessary, short of shooting me, and see how it turns out for them.

Any takers? Or does the Tueller Drill have it right?

I always find it interesting when someone who is supposedly trying to fight racism decides to try and paint someone else as racist not because of what he was forced to do but based on the perception of the ignorant.

I am curious if the suspect targeted only Americans. Or only Whites. Or only Non Muslims. Or only infidels in his eyes.

Ironic the pos film maker didnt bother to ask those questions.

Makes one wonder who the racist really is.
