Hello everyone!

So today i met a guy who is a member of o.t.o. In Slovenia.. i was always kinda into crowley and occult stuff but i really dont know much about oto and thelema. So i was wondering if someone could tell me some more about it (what it teaches, purpouse, their way of functioning and other stuff)..

He invited my to their mass for initiation but i want to know first if it's really something i wanna be part of.. i always wanted to be a mason but this is kinda different (at least he told me so)..

Man's intelligence and will over god's.

If you think you are god then go for it but if you believe in a higher power then don't.

In fact you probably already know a lot about it already without even knowing.

Vibration/ frequency, manifesting the material world in accordance with will/ co-creation, many philosophies with their beginnings in an ancient form of alchemy.

You don't need to "JOIN" with anyone or anything to practice and explore your beliefs.
To "join" is to follow and /or be offered the specific beliefs of others.
Why limit yourself to others knowledge ?
Can you ONLY find God by worshiping with others in a church ?
Power, knowledge and enlightenment is not brought about by communion with others.
It is brought about by communion with ones self.

Thats true
but i always wondered and was kinda drawn to mysticism and rituals (i know some of them) but to find like minded people, do stuff together and learn, why not? But i dont want some serious oaths or something like that..

I say go for it. If you want to, that is.
I have often considered it just to see what it's all about.

Though, I know Crowley was a big fan of sodomy and I believe there are rituals and degrees that require being on the giving and receiving end of such actions.. I think that would have to be where I draw the line.

That's if you can believe anything about him.. seems like he's shrouded in myth and disinformation so who knows? Not I!

if you want to wind up like peaches geldof, then yeah join to OTO....

Peaches Geldof Found Dead at Age 25: “Sudden and Unexplained”, a Year After Announcing Initiation to the O.T.O

And Jay-Z does have a sweatshirt sporting their mantra "Do What Thou Wilt" so who knows.

Explain please. Why would joining O.T.O. mean you wind up like Peaches Geldof? Are you saying if one joins that organisation, you wind up dead? How did you come to that? Even though Peaches died from a heroin overdose, for which she was a user long before joining the O.T.O. ?

I'm sure the friends of the Podesta brothers said the same thing to themselves also.

Its also on the reading list they send you when you get an application. Yes... a paper application like for a job in snail mail. Thats how they did it in the early 90's. The big lodge in Sacramento is where youd apply back then and if accepted... you get the address and contact for the small lodge nearest your location. Then you get a reading list.. the most interesting were the 2 I posted. Take it or leave it.. I dont care.

Yeah maybe you have a point. Or maybe teaching a heroin addict to have the mantra of "do what thou wilt" is a contributing factor.

Right. So, the mantra, "Do what thou wilt" lead Peaches Geldof to overdose on heroin. Not her addiction or mental health, but the words, "Do what thou wilt". Well done. Brilliant analysis.

Based on your logic, there should be no OTO members left because, according to you, you end up dead like Peaches Geldof.

You'd think that would hurt their membership fees...

Its weird and kinda silly, but not nefarious. Its hard to take seriously imo, but if you enjoy participatory theater, then have fun.
