Tell me this isn't something you always wanted to do when you were a child?

Two guys go into a Walmart at 9pm on Thanksgiving to set up their Toilet Paper Fortress of Solitude. I don't even think they really care about getting the special deals, although it's an added bonus. I think they just wanted to go live out their childhood fantasy and record it for all of us to enjoy. Props to them.

At one point after having walled themselves behind their fortress they created a secret crawl space entrance/exit from a connecting aisle of paper tissue boxes. They sneak out of their fortress through the newly created escape tunnel and resume shopping after midnight has passed.

They even start grabbing things from the furniture section to take back with them to decorate their fortress!

I made my forts outside in the backyard, Walmart is a place I avoid!

Hell, I don't shop there. And I'm too old to be doing stuff like building forts in Walmart.

But that is definitely something I would have wanted to do when I was a kid.

You're never too old for anything.

I agree, but I prefer living it out vicariously through watching them do it in their video.

I guess it's definitely a sign of my age, as well as my experience working years in retail, but to hell with these guys. Many retail places are already dealing with the worst of the worst when it comes to customers and their greed, the last thing they need on one of the busiest days of the year is young kids doing stuff like this.

Any other time of the year it would be funny/annoying, but on Black Friday I can't help but feel these guys need a good, swift kick in the ass. They're lucky the cops weren't called on them. Hiding behind all of that stuff, who's to say they weren't in the process of stealing, especially with movies back there.

Well I think that all the video they posted stands as evidence that they weren't stealing. They were never caught trying to take things out of the store.

I worked in retail for my first job when I was 16. Old Navy.

I worked Black Fridays. They were intense, but I've always been a strong believer that a having a slightly absurdist perspective on every situation is healthy, and optimum for survival.

At least the Walmart employee didn't react like you say you would. She seemed to be receptive to the absurdity if only for a moment before she kicked them out.

Yes! Completely agree!

Oh wait... You meant that as a negative??

Good for these guys, and for being cool about it (putting stuff back, being careful not to ruin anything.)

In my day, people with too much time on their hands went out and got a job.

Dude, it was 9pm on Thanksgiving. The only people that had to be at work on Thanksgiving evening are Walmart employees. For all you know they are both investment bankers who were just really enjoying their time off for the Holidays.

The only kind of people who would defend such infantile behavior are those who are themselves infantile.

Notice I haven't called you any names. Their behavior is some good holiday fun, and much needed in these parts.

Get that stick out of your butt and smile some, guy.

I might be more receptive if you stopped calling me "dude" and "guy".

No, now that I think about it, I'd still like to see these two get a job and spend their time more constructively.
