""Though the tragedies, deaths and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty," Trump said in a statement issued from his West Palm Beach, Florida, resort where he and his family are spending the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

"While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve," he added.""

We're very fortunate to have a Economic Specialist about the take the helm of the U.S. Presidency. What Cuba the country, and the people of Cuba need, more than anything right now, is guidance and assistance in boosting their economy.

It's obvious from President-elect Trumps statement on Fidel Castro's passing, that he definitely has a heart for the Cuban people. The current U.S. President, only said this was "an emotional moment" for Cubans and Cuban Americans.

We wish President Trump much success in making Cuba as much of a friend/partner to the U.S., as most other Caribbean nations.

So Donnie isn't going to be president? Because one thing mister bankruptcy isn't is a economic specialist. So Donnie must have his eye on some property he wants so look for a made up reason for invasion.

Absolutely not, don't be so ignorant of the situation, you reek of troll.

Moving along, this could hopefully open up new avenues of approach for business dealings and economic cooperation.
I seriously wonder how Fidels death will change the political landscape?

Yeah sounds good. Mr. Casino can turn the whole island into one big gambling mecca for the rich, and criminal to visit on the week ends. Just like the rich and criminal had done to the island prior to the Cuban Revolution.

Ok some of you need to remember who opened the door on this thing. It was Obama and what he said about its time having come was probably true and not really reflective of some niche interests.

That is exactly what the people of Cuba needed in 1959 when Castro and others overthrew the criminal cartels that ran the island for the American gambling industry. They needed help and when they turned to the United States for that help, it was denied, so the revolutionaries turned to Russia for help and got the help denied them by the US.

Try and keep up. Cuba is still a bunch of godless commies with Raul Castro [fidels brother] still at the helm. That's your political landscape.

Trump making nice nice with commies, Putin and Cuba....That doesn't set off alarm bells?

I swear, Trump could cut off the fingers of Christian children and his supporters would make excuses for him.

A giant Trump casino right in the center of Havana would be amazing! hopefully it will match up perfectly with the one that will undoubtedly go up in Kyoto

Well as an American, we have enough of our own problems. Let's worry about us for now. The difference is I want to uplift the people in this country first. Cubans are not a priority. Sorry if you're Cuban, but there's a lot more of America than just southern Florida.
