what bout The Holy Mountain?

Interesting. Somehow this one hass elluded both my dystopian list, and my vast surreal films collection (I'll post a list for surreal films eventually too).

On the surface it looks like a pure surreal piece.

But there is a clip soomeone titled as "Dystopian Housing Plan from Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain" (contains nudity):

I found another one looking that up: Kontroll (2003).

Here goes a full version of it:

never mind The Running Man, I see what you did with the formatting.

Pretty comprehensive list. I'll see what I can add.

Yeah, I had to go that way to maintain my sanity.

I also have the original french version of the Running Man:

Le Prix du Danger (1983) [aka The Prize of Peril]

www.imdb.com...
en.wikipedia.org...
[Le Prix du Danger (The Prize of Peril) is a 1983 French-Yugoslav science fiction movie, directed by Yves Boisset. It is based on Robert Sheckley's short story "The Prize of Peril", published in 1958.

The most popular television game show in the near future is one where everyday men or women volunteer to be hunted. They are hunted down and killed by a team of five pursuers, also volunteers from different walks of life. If they survive they will get an enormous cash prize. But no one has managed to survive... so far.]

Please do!

A few more.

Maximum Overdrive (1986) - apocalyptic
Robot Overlords (2014) - post apocalyptic (Alien invasion)
Meteor (1979) - giant asteroid heading toward Earth yadda yadda, Sean Connery, Natalie Wood
Eyeborgs (2009) - dystopian. Haven't seen it but I remember a thread about it on ATS.
The Human Race (2013) - possible fit for dystopian

EDIT:

After the Dark (2013)

I didn't see this one listed.

Or this one that I had a small part in. I also had parts or was an extra in a few of those you listed.

They're in there, in the 2nd list. I divided the dystopian and the PA into 2 separate lists. But dont let that stop you from posting trailers and stuff (such as these experiences you're alluding to)!

Those are good ones (The Road & The Book of Eli). Eli is the better.

Cant believe I forgot that one! Howard Beale is one of my all time favorite characters.

Thank you for getting him in here early on!

The Human Race (2013) sounds interesting. I'd have to see it to figure if D or "Disputed D". The synopsis reminds me of Freerunner (2011), and also makes me think of Predators (2010) & Robb Zombie's latest "31 (2016)".

It was the Tyler Derden reference that brought Howard Beale to mind. I see so much of Derden in Beale.

I loved that anime movie Akira......it has been a long time since I have seen it, but I remember it being very trippy.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. The Road is an EXCELLENT movie. Vigo Mortenson (sp?) is really good in it. It is post apocalyptic. About a guy and his young kid wandering a waste land after some sort of disaster pretty much destroys everything. They dont go much into the cause of the disaster tho.

I can see elements of both of those in The Human Race with a little Battle Royale thrown in.

I'm hoping that one day someone will make a tv series out of the book "A Canticle for Lebowitz".

An awesome classic post-apocalyptic book and was actually the first of its type that I ever read.

Rob Zombie is a cinematic genius. I seem to have missed this new Rob flick. i find it interesting that some of his cast of the usual suspects are on the receiving end of the sadistic violence instead of dishing it out. I respect that. I will be catching it ASAP!

Yeah! He's on a short list of directors that every few months I check in on what he's working on. Him, Nolan, Tarantino... probably a couple other I cant think of right now.

My desktop is down right now so I cant very well garnish the thread with more fancy pance content atm.

Watching the Predator, and Alien joint sagas today (I have them merged as one chronology). Contemplating over if Predator 2 ought to be worth the D list, given the conditions of the city, crime syndicates warring in the streets. Rampant corruption seems inherent althought not specified.
