2 things about this:

1. Publicly stating no intention to prosecute may be a tactic to keep Obama from issuing a preemptive pardon, which would allow for a separate investigation once Trump takes office (Obama may not want to pardon her as it would potentially ruin his legacy for a lot of Americans, and may hold off if he believes there is no intention to appoint a special prosecutor).

2. Hillary will likely be implicated in the separate (and still ongoing) investigation into the Clinton Foundation. As such, a separate investigation into the server is not necessary as the potential for far more damaging charges exists through the CF investigation.

I think this is best course of action for President Trump. That's not to say I am opposed to extrajudicial exploits.

But it's scary how many votes she still got!

I'd like to see a real investigation into more than just the CF or email server. Like Seth Rich's death. Still unsolved. Still no interest in any connection his job might have had to his murder.

By the way, there was an update from his parents today:

They say, no way could the Clintons be involved because, in their opinion, Seth would not leak info to Wikileaks. It's unfortunate how that one theory has overshadowed any other theories or possibilities.

It's up to the FBI and DOJ if they want to pursue charges. The problem was that the Obama admin was blocking them. I'm pretty sure Trump will let them do their thing if they continue the investigation.

So that's another promise Trump reneges upon.

Imagine that.

Im going to need you to quote his promise. If you are dredging up that debate video, don't bother becuse that's just an admission that you are making it up.

oh is it "let her heal" now?

Last week it was "I don't want to hurt the Clinton's. They are good people".

and people said John Kerry flip flopped.

LOL @ the snowflakes in this thread pointing out that Trump has broken a promise.

If Trump went ahead with the charges you would all be sitting in the corner of a safe room listening to emo music and cutting yourselves, so consider yourselves lucky that Trump found it in his heart to spare your beloved granny.

There is still an ongoing CF investigation going on, and Trump doesn't have the reigns yet. We still need to see if Obama will hand out a preemptive pardon also. Don't forget how Trump like to play the media though.

I'd really like to see Hillary in jail. She totally deserves it. But the more I think about it, it would probably be better for the country to let it go. Assuming Trump can get a promise from the Clintons to just go away and stay away from government for the rest of their lives. Otherwise, we very well might end up in a situation where the West Coast states try to secede, and we find ourselves facing another civil war.

Most people that screamed Hillary for prison are massive hypocrites at this point, and are reneging as hard as Trump.

Speaks volumes about the Republican platform.

I don't want to see someone innocent go to jail, because I'm not a massive bumbling idiot, that's why I felt against it.

If she's guilty she belongs in jail.

This single topic has ruined the Rights credibility massively...like black hole massive...

Trump won with a 2 step plan:
1. "I'm going to fire and jail corrupt Washington officials!"
*crowd cheers*
2. "And I'm starting with my opponent!"
*crowd cheers*

You fell for the dumbest trick I've ever seen.

I'm livid.

Trump is one and done if he bails on this. The whole Trump thing is now completely over before he's even inaugurated if this is true because the people will turn on him, and of course they should.

"You should be in jail" saved his whole campaign. If he doesn't follow through on this then he's useless and to hell with him.

Don't give up just yet. The Clinton Foundation investigation is far bigger and farther reaching than the server issue. The Foundation issues could bring down all three Clintons, Podesta, Huma, and many, many others.

Trump pushing for investigation/prosecution at this juncture would not be politically prudent, as I am sure Obama would do preemptive pardons for all of his associates if he felt that the new administration would push hard for prosecution.

What a precedent for any criminal.

"Oh, you got humiliated? Well, that's justice enough, you're free to go!".

But, if anyone seriously thought She'd be prosecuted is in denial.

I think a more troublesome precedent would be imprisoning your political opponents. Thats pure banana republic.

If you voted for someone because you wanted to see a political rival put in prison, you voted for the wrong reason to begin with.

but why would Julian Assange be specially interested in his death...a DNC staffer ?

What's your theory?

What this means is he will not Appoint a Special Prosecutor in the Investigation of Hillary Clinton's E-Mails . The F.B.I. Investigation into the Clinton Foundation is Still Ongoing . President Elect Trump is staying out of the way of that Investigation because he does not want Hillary Pardoned by President Obama before he Leaves Office .

I'd have thought justice should be served, regardless of station, or if humiliated, or had a bad day.

By your logic, anyone that is in politics shouldn't be prosecuted? As surely anyone in politics is the opposition to someone else in politics.
