Well I know a bunch of mechanics that are or should be rocket scientists.

The professor of Cognitive Science at UC San Diego said cursing could be linked to higher intelligence.

“It turns out that on average, the ones who swear the most also have the biggest vocabulary overall,” Bergen added.

Swearing may also reduce anger.

He was also instructed to swear and play a video game while his aggression was measured.

“There’s this idea that swearing might be cathartic” and can relieve anger and aggression, Bergen suggested.

But according to the professor, cursing makes people no less aggressive.

Men or women swear more? Men swear more frequently but in private, who knows.

Who swears more often? Men? Or women?

“Men are much more frequent users of swears than women are. But I don’t know whether that actually holds in private. I’m told by some of my female friends that that’s absolutely not true in private,” Bergen added.

Bullsh!t.

Hehe..

Seriously though. It is a presice form of language which instantly conveys a message with emotional attachment. It also transcends language barriers, and sometimes brings mutual agreement.

Yes, I like to know everything I can about swearing, because when you think about it, it makes no sense but it feels so good.

Swearing may also reduce anger.

That's a frightening prospect. I'm trying to imagine how angry my dad would be if he wasn't swearing then...

Someone swore to build a wall and get Muslims out. We will see if they are really smart or just bluffing.

To stop the Mexicans from getting in. He'd have to build a really tall wall to keep planes from coming in. Then again, i'm sure the greatest wall could handle that

True, when watching someone swing a ball peen hammer to hit a chisel they are holding, it makes a ping noise. PING, PING, PING, thud.
The thud is a thumb getting smashed, next is the GD's+MF's in various combos and maybe the chisel gets flung for good measure.
Anger is an odd emotion.

The diversity of one's vocabulary repitoire may be linked to swearing usage, doesn't necessarily indicate higher intelligence.

Of course not, it was a fun little story. I know people who are very very smart (engineers) don't swear. I also know people who do factory work who use F as an noun, adjective and a flavor of coffee, not the sharpest.
It takes them all to make the world go around.
