UK woman visiting Dubai arrested for extramarital sex for being gang raped

A UK tourist has been arrested and charged in Dubai for having “extramarital sex” after she reported being gang raped by two British men.

Upon reporting the rape to local police, the woman was allegedly arrested for breaking Emirati law against extramarital sex, and faces years in prison or severe physical punishment, including flogging and stoning to death

The charges have been confirmed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office

This is completely insane. A woman was gang-raped by two men in Dubai, so she of course did what any person in her position should do: she reported it to the police. The problem however is that in the Islamic UAE, there is no differentiation between rape and consensual sex... So now this woman who had been raped by two men could potentially be stoned to death for being raped.

Is Dubai based on Shari'a? If so, then it's not a stretch to believe at all. She was out without male escort and her own testimony is worth less than a man's, so the testimony of the two who raped her would outweigh hers by far. If they say she led them on, then it was extramarital and she would be at fault.

Me too. I dont get it, other than the far left is hypocritical about everything. Still though, it takes some serious cognitive dissonance to both support womens and gay rights and also Islam, including radical Islam which seems to be about half of it.

There are no koranic verses that say you can rape anyone, as in the concept. rape doesn't exist. it is all consensual
and sex out of wedlock is bad. women aren't allowed to do that.

That's because they pick and choose what they are tolerant of.

Obviously people who wanted our stale government to take a different direction don't fit into that.
