How can you explain the fact that we have not been back to the moon for 30 years without any valable reasons.

Easy, Cosmic Radiation

SETI would pick up signals only if the aliens used radio to communicate.

But what if they use laser pulses, as we are also beginning to do? If they used lasers and pointed them from the far side of the moon into deep space, no one on earth would ever see it.

Maybe they are using a high speed frequency WiFi signal.. only thing to then is to adept the incoming signal to a wifi auto adapting sequencer after we picking up the signal with the arecebo or the new radioteloscopes like lofar.maybe then we can tap in there information stream.

But for now I am using setiathome .. but I still imaging the idea of trying to get every signal we get trough a device to look if we can connect like a networkcard/modem to a network like the internet or lan.

Thanks for everyone replying. My dad just told me he read on the net that the americans plan to make the most powerful telescope ever to look at the moon to show the world the stuff they left up there.I think it will also be used for other scientific purposes.Does anyone have any info on this?

I did not mean to single you out for a tremendous amount of work. I thought it would be a simplified kind of thing that was a matter of a few minutes of mathematics that are beyond me, but would appear obvious to anyone with common sense. Which is why I made the parameters so simplified, you obviously realize that what I said does not even begin to scratch the surface of such an endeavor. Supply, logistics, personnel, equipment, retooling, etc…

Considering the amount of people that thought we cold just go park the Columbia at the space station and repair it, without orbit inserting for it, I should have known better then to try to rely on common sense.

I did not mean that as a challenge to you, or anything, I simply thought you would have the background to fill in the gaps. Please don’t go to any extensive amount of work based on my post.

To me it just makes plain sense that there is no amount of material that is going to flow from the moon without a tremendous outlay of money, people, and equipment to build the infrastructure behind it both here and there. Then when you start talking about building infrastructure there, you have to get it there and build it somehow. That this was not feasible back then due to the level of technology, and today because it was not the direction of the program. Thus it would require a massive retooling to change program directions as they currently are.

according to the evidence here we werent exactly kicked of the moon, but it was already booked when we got there

Yes, however in 40 years, space research in moon missions was poorly funded. If it had been funded we could have started some kind of operation on the moon, as the incentive is present. The moon is an excellent resource. However, neither the Americans or the Russians have exploited it. Now, considering how many astronauts have seen UFOs in space, there is certainly very good reason to expect that the moon may actually be occupied by the Chinese

If I remeber correctly Japan and China are planning on treking to the moon in the near future. If they come back in one piece then we no all is well and were all just being a bit paranoid.

And why would aliens build a base on Earths Moon? Would you rather have a base in a more sceanic area like Uranus? Or Neptune

You know what's a coincidence? I was reading about this just last night. I think yes. I mean we are not allowed to hear the converstaions between Astronauts and NASA anymore because of what Astonauts mentioned when they were in space. Neil Armstrong said they were warned off.
It went like this.
NASA: What's there Mission Control calling Apollo
Apollo 11: These "babies" are huge, Sir! Enormous! OH MY GOD! You wouldn't believe it. I'm telling you there are other spacecraft out there, lined up on the far side of the crater edge. They're on the moon watching us!
in an interview Armstrong said: It was incredible, of course we had always known there was a possibility; the fact is, we were warned off.

what about the amateur astronomers ? don't they have pretty powerful telescopes ? wouldn't tunnels, bridges, cities be visible ?

and for the "the aliens built everything on the far side of the moon so we can't see it" rebuttals, first you'll have to show evidence the apollo mission and neil armstrong speant 100% of their time on the moon on the far side of the moon, or that argument doesn't stand up........

After perusing the thread and seeing that Gordon Cooper hasnt been mentioned much, heres a couple links for you. Cooper has always been a big advocate of governments announcing what they know.

Nice Writeup about Gordon

at issue here is more the "kicked off the moon" idea and bases, tunnels and bridges......how could the escape the eyes of astronomers all around the earth? those who aren't working for the gov't ?

Valid question, however the answer may raise more questions. The Moon’s orbit is not only almost a perfect circle, but is also stationary. Making one side permanently away from view. To date, it’s the only natural satellite with such an orbit.

"During its two-month orbit of the Moon in 1994, Clementine captured 1.8 million images of the Moon's surface. The Laboratory provides the Clementine Lunar Image Browser as a courtesy to scientific researchers, as well as the general public, and you are welcome to browse the over 170,000 images that are available."

Wow! 1.8 million images, many of which were later merged into a single big picture. Do you think that that square picture just might be either a piece of a mosiac which was inadvertently placed in the wrong area or was shot at a different sensitivity level?

Or are you going to build the "Lizardsamok Large Apartment Project Theory" based on a single picture you can't explain?

Either way, it ought to be good for a couple of laughs, right?

I am not buying your '"conveniently misplaced mosiac tile theory".
These are degreed scientists, they have the papers to prove it.

THEY ARE ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE MOON, REMEMBER, THE PART THAT WE DO NOT GET TO SEE. THE PART THAT IS ONLY VISIBLE TO ORBITING SPACECRAFT.

please explain how neil armstrong saw them on the apollo mission, as put forth in a prior post. Are you saying the apollo missions only explored the dark side of the moon ? ps - all caps is rude......

If we were kicked off the moon it would explain why everybody thinks we didn't go there....

All the pictures that people think are fakes of the moon landing, the flag fluttering in the wind and so on.

If we were kicked off the, Government would have had to cover it up or risk the population finding out that we're not alone.

It reinforces the consipracists ideas that we didn't go there, but for alternate reasons.

We went there but the Governments want us to think that we found nothing but a pile of rocks.

That's what I think.

1. You can easily find the debunking of the Moon conspiracy on either badastronomy.com or NASA's site (type in Moon Landing Hoax in the search), to see the rather logical explanations behind the oft-cited inconsistencies. Short answer-yes we went to the moon.

2. Moon orbiters and some Apollo missions did see the "dark" side of the moon.

3. Even with the best telescopes, about the best res (I believe about 1 meter res) you can get can only see the shadow of the lander in the designated spot, as the shadow is at times, larger than the craft of course. Eventually, this may get better, but it seems to be the limits of our tech at present.

4. China announced a proposed moonshot soon, so I guess we'll see what happens then, hmm?

Could the aliens have just been watching a historic event? Say the first time our species set foot on another planetary body other than our own?

As far as being "warned off", all I've heard was this assumption was based on menasing behavior, and nothing about direct communication. Could be a missinterpritation.

BTW, if the moon is hollow, there would not be enough mass to create gravity (moon is 1/6th of earth's gravity), therefore be very difficult to walk around.
